Its got the purity of being a very new song, i think sometimes by the time an artist records a song its a bit old and its hard to capture the roots of the emotions that they were expressing. I love hearing a song in its earliest form

It sounds like he's sorta playing "folk song in c" at 1:22 haha

Natalie Smith definitely is. It’s funny cause I play that song when I’m messing around or during little intermissions. It’s just a nice little thing to mess around with.

You can really here the complexity of the finger picking in that little clip

Very cool, I love "new" Elliott stuff! Where was it recorded at? Thank You!
@friendlycircus13017 жыл бұрын
i'm guessing this was recorded around 95/96 at the latest judging by the way they refer to half right as a 'new' song, although i could be wrong.

You’re correct, this was during his last heatmiser album and his first solo stuff

He was calling it see you later...both half right and see you later are mic city sons I believe....he must have written see you later after this, just based on having a title he wanted to use.
@incessantmurkysmuggler6 жыл бұрын
shanegarm no I think you can hear the guy say what was the last song you played and he responded with, “see you later”. He probably was playing new stuff for them and then she started taping it.

@@incessantmurkysmuggler He did play See You Later. I think this was from a Radio interview (we ended up hanging out with the kids from the station)....I don't remember what station it was though.... we did around early spring of 95. I had this tape, and I put it to digital, and onto Soundcloud about 8 years ago. It had this early version of half right, and see you later. I dont think he played any other songs that day. The station gave me the tape. I found it yrs later, and onto soundcloud. Someone found that, and put it up on you tube.

he says the song doesn't have a name. Correct e if i'm wrong but wasn't the whole Mary lou thing after heatmiser? This song had a name by that point right? did he just really dislike naming his songs?
@jaq86043 жыл бұрын
They met during or after the making of his self titled solo record in 1995, which was at the beginning of the making of Mic City Sons, I believe.
