Fun fact: there are Lego compatible steel/aluminum axles and beams. Fun fact no.2 some builds, including ones at Lego lands and the discovery centers will have a frame inside in order to provide stability. Fun fact 3: there was Lego quatro. These were bigger than duplos in size. It was made for age 1-3.

I figured out the compatibility of Duplo with Lego when I was young, and used Duplo bricks to create huge space ships. Crashing them was also fun ;-)
