Dont know if you've done it yet or not, but I highly recommend installing sound deadening in the floor, doors, and rear passenger walls/ storage floor area. Helps with sound, quiets the outside noise, and gets rid of that tin can sound.Installed it in my 89 and made a world of difference.

Your truck is incredible! This was the first thing I did in my 93. Went with a Sony 6.2" head unit, focal 4" for the front, kicker 5 1/4 for the rear, and a cheap rockville 8" powered sub that fit perfectly behind the driver seat. It'll fit in the jack storage under the seat too, but I haven't tried it in there yet. Wish I had the door speakers like yours does.

I used those license plate lights on my 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 in the factory location - left and right side of the license plate. I mounted them on "footballs" I made out of 1/8" aluminum that match the shape of the factory lights. The do an outstanding job of illuminating the license plate. Best part of it was the price - $8.

Great job. Like your videos. It's fun to watch someone else work for a change. If do decide to put a sub in, take all the measurements of where you might fit an enclosure and send them to a company called Audio Dynamics. I did and they engineered an enclosure specific to my truck and needs and sent me the prints and instructions on how to build it. I also bought one of their subs and the whole thing sounds fantastic. Keep up the good work.

For the subs, you can get some pretty decent affordable 6.5” subs off Amazon. They don’t require much room, and supposedly sound pretty good.

You could use the speaker boxes that are int he 2nd gen 4runner front speaker positions .. makes the front dash speaker so much better and it fits in the factory location

Haven’t seen your whole build but if you still have your rear, jump seat compartment, a compact sub fits perfectly inside it, behind the drivers seat. It’ll be out of sight and offers plenty of bass for the Yota. I put in a JVC one and I’m really pleased.

I put an MTX rt8pt mounted vertically in the back seat of my 2003 xtra cab Tacoma. Made a custom mount to keep it standing upright above the buckles in the center of the two seats. The 8” sub was plenty for the cab size and it didn’t interfere with the seating or space. Might be something worth looking into if you’re concerned about space

You should fab up a little kill switch box with a locking door that has pullable or a ignition/power lock like boats have. I have a couple hidden random switches in my truck for anti theft.

Awesome build series! All the time and effort you’ve your putting into the truck why wouldn’t you apply deadener to the interior? Even without a stereo it would make the truck more enjoyable to drive. Keep up the good work and looking forward to more videos.

A under the seat powered sub in a little pickup like that is all you need to sound good my standard cab sonoma bumps pretty good with the smaller kenwood powered sub they sell its like 150 on amazon

Bro. Check out a 90s 4Runner. They have direct fit under dash speaker box for your 4inch speakers. No modifications needed. Just plug and play! If you ever run into a 4Runner.

Instead of those 4" cheap speakers you bought, go to a junkyard and get the front speakers out of a 4runner of the same vintage as your truck. They use a ported bass loaded enclosure and a 2" tweeter, and will bolt right in to your dash.

Have you looked into the kicker Hideaway series powered subs? I’ve got the little 8 inch one in my truck and have been very pleased with the sound for the size. Should fit behind or under the seat just fine.

are those the stock door panels or are they off a 4 runner? I was thinking about putting 4runner center dash in my 91 so it has the little cubby and what not instead of a grey panel that does nothing. I have 6inch speakers i think they are in the rear where those cubbys are.

Hi, bro, thanks for replying promptly. What I'm trying to achieve is when I park, without the key in ignition, I still have the internet access through the headunit. I already have an auxiliary battery. I'm not keen in using the radio and speakers, but KZbin and google maps are essential to me. I think if you made a panel to plug that giant hole in the door that the speaker sits in, it might improve your sound. My understanding is that you want to separate the front of the speaker from the rear. Also use some foam to seal the speaker to the door,and the speaker to the door panel. Same goes for the 4s in the dash. The factory speaker used foam to seal the speaker to the panel. Simple things that can go a long way. I was bummed that you had to trim the radio bezel, as those are hard to come by not hacked from someone using a din sleeve, but you redeemed yourself by using the factory radio brackets

Am I yoda pu enthusiasts, am I wondering where the sub is. I strapped a harmon kardon e39 subwoofer the the back of my bench. You should use that subwoofer, with a 1500 dual chan amp you can have very unique, clear sounding system. Nokia e39 4” subwoofer
