The TW200 is a great little motorcycle and ill never get rid of it. But I have been thinking about getting a 2nd motorcycle in the 400cc range for a long time. I finally found the one I liked so I picked it up. This bike is much more rideable on the road but can also go off road as well. I wanted something to commute and travel more with that can handle all roads. Thanks for watching!

had a minor spill off road. Got it up and bike would no longer start. Left me stranded. I think I broke the immobilizer somehow. The pick up ring around the key broke. And also the shift pedal is facing the ground hope the internal shift assembly isn’t destroyed. Guess I was too use to the tw200 being so durable. Kinda wish I just got another old school carb bike like a DR650. Only the dealers or shops having access to the diagnostic software and only they can reset the service reminder light is really getting to me.

My wife and I both have TW's in the garage. They're not going away any time soon. However, we are waiting on our two new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450's to be delivered next week. We were torn between the RE's and the Triumph. It's a good looking bike.
@TDubsKid
@TDubsKid Ай бұрын
nice! I love my TW but need something more streetable. the Himalayan 450 looks great! those don't have an immobilizer system do they? that was the downfall of my Triumph. 1 little spill off road disabled the bike and will cost $1800 just to get running again minus the other issues. only the dealer can fix it. wish I would have gone Himalayan 450 if it doesn't have an immobilizer system, i'm never buying a bike with an immobilizer system again
@willhall640
@willhall640 Ай бұрын
@@TDubsKid I've never heard anything of them having an immobilizer. From the testing and review videos I've watched I can't imagine they do. They banged them around pretty good. I don't understand why an immobilizer would be installed on a dual sport bike? I plan to hit a tree or a rock and the ground now and then while riding.

Thanks! It was such a nice bike but I kinda accidentally destroyed it last night, will be interesting to see whats going to happen to it. If it costs too much to fix it and insurance wont cover it might just end up burying it in my parents back yard and pretend to myself that im still just making payments on the TW200

Excellent choice Dubster! I got a 400X in April with a red tank. It's a very nimble bike for its' weight, comfy and well equipped and water cooled. I installed the upper and lower Triumph crash bars which look pretty good and are well built. Since it's a new model parts are scarce as they are putting them into bikes they are building. I did find oil filters from the Waukeshaw Wisconsin Triumph dealer and ordered some. The replacement of the 14 tooth front sprocket with a 15 tooth will drop the revs about 400 to 500 RPM at cruise and the bike has enough power to still have low end grunt. The stock Speed 400 (street version) has the 15 tooth sprocket but it's a part that is on back order. I installed an aftermarket sprocket that was supposed to fit, but it had a raised center that would not let the sprocket cover to go back on. I found a correct looking aftermarket 15 tooth on Amazon I haven't received yet. You need to get the one with the rubber rings around the perimeter of the sprocket just below the teeth, front and back. Ridge Runner and Bankrupt Pensioner YT channels have videos on replacing the front sprocket. Triumphs are good bikes!

@@TDubsKid I just saw your other posts, sorry to hear that. I hear you though, I bought a new KTM 390 Adventure after totalling my last one and it was having issues starting while I was motocamping in the middle of Oregon. Apparently there is an issue where the throttle sensor has issues reading the throttle position and it won’t rev, which isn’t what you want to happen in the middle of the back country. Luckily I was with friends, but it still took a few tries to get started each time and it was worrying. Would be nice to have a regular throttle cable so I could set the idle high if I run into that same hard start issue.

Beautiful motorcycle. My dad’s first street bike was a Triumph chopper. One with the forks that stick out about a half a mile in front of the bike. Flames on the gas tank and a 4ft sissy bar. Lol... The seat on it actually looked a lot like this one. Triumph builds a solid motorcycle. Since their recent release of dirt bikes, I’m kind of fantasizing that they will be introducing the unicorn of dual sports with the 400cc motor.

If you get the side bag, could you do a video on the rack install? I know it's only single sided saddle bags because of the exhaust, but I was wondering if it just mounts to the bolts you can see on the tail. If that's the case I'd like to fabri-cobble a 2 sided saddle bag kit like the one for the scrambler 1200...

Wondering if you’ve been watching some MOBStreet 83? He loves his T-Dubs but also purchased the same bike as you but in red. Anyway as you mentioned you are not a kid anymore so time for a little different content bike wise. We are all getting older. Love your channel and I’m really looking forward to further content. Get some crash guards. I’ve been following you for years and it’s only a matter of time until you drop it.

Will you put a rack on the triumph? The utility factor on the tdub is maybe its best asset imho. I just got one after decades of no bike, and love it.

Killer. Been waiting for a smaller bike for street/dirt roads for us here in CO. Got rid of my stupid expensive Ducati’s and had a klx 300sm for a minute. This looks totally worth checking out!! What dealer did you go to?

For sure the 400cc range seems to be a perfect mix between power and mpg. the Japanese brands need to get on 400cc range adventure band wagon

Noco powersports but i would have gone to any who had what I wanted in stock, the dealer in lakewood had all the oil service parts in stock. I didn’t like how the dealer made it seem like I had to have the 600 mile break in service done there and pay $400 😂 it tells you whats needed in the manual. And has detailed oil service instructions. As long as everything is done correctly and documented then the warranty is still valid

Almost completely different bikes. Of course outshine TW in most areas. I've had 5 TWs which are all basically the same. My biggest complaint is the harsh ride on rocky roads and not much in the way of suspension. Even my change to progressive springs didn't make much difference. So, you didn't comment on the ride difference. Is there decent travel up front? Was price the reason for choice? So many other Japanese choices.

haha for sure. yeah will be better than the TW on road but the TW will still be better off road. wow that's a lot of TWs. yeah not a lot of suspension, this bike doesn't have a whole lot of suspension either. price and looks and power were the factors. also gets better mpg than the tw which is crazy to me
