From watching a bunch of these videos and reading the many comments on this error code on these washers, I've come to think that the problem is more often related to connectivity issues to the thermistor or heating elements, rather than the actual probe failing. I think that due to repetitive vibrations that occur when the drum spins and agitates, the connections to the the element/sensor become intermittent, and in some cases, break altogether. It's very important to secure the wire harness using wire-ties, and make sure there isn't any tension pulling on the wire harness and to inspect the thermistor's wire harness connector by opening it up and looking at the terminals inside (my washer model has a different connector/mount than the one in this video). They may have vibrated loose, backed themselves out of the body of the connector, or broken off entirely inside, depending on how bad and how long the washer has been punishing the connector. Another thing I'm wondering based on the comments on other videos is if there could be a build up of hair/lint/etc in the area around the heating element and thermister? I don't know if anyone has looked into that, but it makes sense that if there is too much debris in there that the sensor/element would not work as designed. Wondering if anyone has checked the thermistor's resistance reading with an ohm meter? I checked mine and it reads @ 55k ohms at room temp (cold basement), and then when I heat it up to body temp, it steadily goes down in resistance to about 26k ohms. If it was bad, I would expect that the reading would show either a direct short (0 ohms) or read open (or extremely high resistance) -or at least be erratic in it's ohmic reading (or not change reading at all). I did find and remove some calcium/mineral scale build-up on half of the tip of the probe, and it appeared to have backed itself out of its mount (it's just pressure mounted). I put my machine back together with the original thermistor and it's been running for a week of solid running all types of loads and settings without erroring out. So far, so good. If it fails again, I'm going to look into cleaning out the cavities where the thermistor and element are mounted (we have 2 dogs and one cat). If anyone has already done this, please add on to this reply. Oh, I found it way easier to get to the sensor by tilting the machine back and securing it in place so it didn't squish my big ugly head while I was underneath it. ;-) Thanks for the video!!

Thanks a bunch for this video Michael!!! I found a broken blue wire that was supposed to be connected to the thermistor. Hopefully, i'll get a few more years out of this thing before having to purchase a new one. Thanks again!!

Here I am complaining about taking my time to find and watch all six videos and I’m wasting all this time to copy and paste the same comment … I would leave a thumbs up (and I did for one video), but 6 videos to cover what could be shown in one video. Very easy to follow, well presented, but again, it should all be covered in one video, I don’t like having to find follow up videos … especially 5 of them. Don’t waste peoples time looking for the next vid, and watch an add before each one, just show it all at once. I don’t care if you throw extra adds in the one, I understand being monetize, you deserve to earn a little extra for your time and knowledge, but my time is worth money too.

Where is the video for how to actually remove the heating assembly? Thank you. The thermistor and assembly arrive today. I tested the existing thermistor and it was reading ~50 ohms at room temp. All the wiring looked fine. This is the second time I've taken the machine apart and your video helped refresh my memory.

I have an LG WM2455HW. I am getting the tE code. Here is my question... Is it possible that there are two Thermistor sensors on my model? If so where might the second sensor be located. When I got the tE code, I ordered a new thermistor based on my model number. It did not match what was in the machine. (My machine seemed to have a heating element with the thermistor built into it). So, I ordered the heating element with the thermistor in it. Installed that and then it ran once and I got the tE code again. I still have the second thermistor but I can't seem to find where it might plug in. Here is the separate sensor I have: LG 6322FR2046C and, here is the heating element with the incorporated sensor I have installed: AEG33121501. Any ideas or hints? I have examined the wiring and I don't see any issues.

I wonder what you do after you replace the entire heating element with the new thermistor attached and you still get the te error? Btw, you don't need to take the entire front apart to get to the heating element. Just pull the washer away from the wall and lean it backwards and work from underneath. There is a huge opening in the bottom. Takes about 5 minutes to get to it.

Thanks for watching. In that case, you will replace Thermistor next. We appreciate the feedback, always welcome here.

Um, the underside has nothing blocking it. Would it not just be easier to jake up the washer or turn it on it side. And just get right to the Heating Element.

Thanks for watching & that will be personal preference. We find it better to follow the steps given by manufacture which are shown in this video. Propping machine up on side & applying an uneven weight distribution may damage machine. Keep us posted on your project.

This video shows a nice disassembly, but no diagnosis... put a multimeter across the two outer terminals and if ohms are between 10-30 then heating element is fine.

YUCK......That soap dispenser looks terrible. I have a LG at my summer home and the dispenser is so spotless you could eat off it, as is the tube going down to the tub. I have FREE PV solar hot water at that location and I feed hot water into the cold inlet. All cycles are done with hot water (set to cold tap) and clothes come out steaming. No mold issues at all! At my other home, I have that same mess and have to take the machine apart to clean that fill tube every year. Your readers ought to consider adding a blend valve to get that cold water inlet a bit warmer so the soap gets washed away and doesn't become a food source for mold.

@@johnvanlandingham8832 My camp system including solar panels, inverter, water heater, power point heater control, and even the LG washer only cost $500 total for totally free laundry. The two year old washer only cost $150 delivered because it didn't work. That's a deal. You are right, some people pay crazy prices for solar.
