@@MouseGoat The caffeine in tea is not good for someone who is under age. I know that in times gone by, it was common to give tea (and coffee) to young children. But fortunately we have evolved as a society, and such a thing is now considered barbaric. Kids under a certain age can't consent to tea drinking anyway. So just don't do it. Btw, I'm not sure if we're still using it as a metaphor, but I think it's quite suitable either way.

just because you interpret their clothes as fit for a tea party doesn’t mean they want tea
@alyssapinon96703 жыл бұрын
I wish more people could understand this! “But they shouldn’t have worn clothes fit for a tea party if they didn’t want tea. Some tea makers just can’t help themselves and want to give tea to anyone who looks like they’re seeking out tea.” That should help people realize how ridiculous it sounds to victim blame. My response to that: “That’s true that some people know and don’t care that people don’t want tea. But as a society we should put the blame on them for being a pushy host rather than the person who probably just wants to feel their best by wearing nice clothes. We should make the tea party association punish bad tea hosts more harshly and take tea accusations more seriously. And sometimes bad tea hosts will make people drink tea even if they’re wearing every day non tea clothes. Plus everyone’s definition of tea clothes varies so we can’t keep playing this stupid game.”

If you want to have tea with someone, you are allowed to ask them. Asking is not wrong. But if you ask 3 times, and each time they say no, then it is a good idea to stop asking. People don't like peer pressure. Also, there is a time and a place to ask for tea. People who are busy right now don't want tea. People who don't know you don't usually want tea. The workplace is an inappropriate place to ask someone if they would like tea. If a person seems like they don't want tea, don't ask them. Sometimes, people will tell you that they don't want tea. That doesn't mean that they are being rude. If they enjoy tea and have it frequently, don't make them feel bad about it. Consent doesn't discriminate by age. It can happen at any age. Predators are predators and they prey on anyone they think they can overpower. So wine, tea, cookies, milkshake, pizza... Whatever example used consent is consent.
@JRMCNEA5 жыл бұрын
@@SheCriesRed That is true. But the society we currently live in has stated that for your consent to be held as true, you have to be of legal consenting age. Although there are millions of underage people who give their consent. Like people are fighting for adults, That consent can be taken away and regarded as not given. Statutory rape was not created because people were convincing children that they wanted tea. It was to tell those children no matter how much you wanted the tea. They were not allowed to give it to you. Yes it is legal laziness. But never the less it is the law. And you have three options. Follow it, Fight it, Or break it and hope you don't get caught. On the term of predators. A predator devours it's prey. And it has nothing to do with overpowering. The weak can prey on the strong and the strong can prey on the weak. The old can prey on the young. And the young can prey on the old. Predatory behavior is a mindset of gaining an unfair advantage to be abused.

@gandalfthegrey2592 Жыл бұрын
@@onmmyway There are lots of issues with this comment, and I suggest you verify your sources because that's an absurd and dangerous statement that needs strong support. Firstly, don't women actually want sex? You yourself mentioned that you have a boyfriend. Painting sex as something unilaterally demanded by men with women having no interest in it, is quite silly and contrary to how people actually work, while that may be you specifically, you're only projecting your opinions onto others. Considering that one of the key aspects of feminism is to have sex with as many and whoever you like without judgment and to embrace it. If women detested sex since it caused them too much pain, feminism would advocate for the exact opposite. Since feminism is primarily concerned with furthering women's "interests" or more accurately, the freedom to do what they wish, why would it advocate for something they don't wish to do? Secondly, no, doing something painful is not coercion if you consented to do it. From your description, your boyfriend _is_ coercive. And frankly, I don't see why ur staying with him if he can not fix his misbehavior towards you, no one is coercing you no? I'll tell you what coercion is, doing something under threat of safety, betrayal, threat, _actual violence_ (not the meme word the internet has it into), deprived of their ability to choose properly, or force. _Wanting_ to do something for someone you care for, even at the cost of pain *is not* coercion. To give a rather extreme example that fortunately society could still sympathize with, if a parent _decides_ to sacrifice their life for their child, _that's not coercion_, even if it is painful. Now if someone held that parent at gunpoint, or threatened them in any other manner, etc., and to prevent such blackmailing from happening. Or for a less example, even with the negative symptoms associated with donating blood, if someone decides to do it, they're not coerced even if they feel the symptoms of losing lots of blood. If someone held them at gunpoint, that would be coercion. And lastly, sex doesn't have to be painful. It's a natural act that is necessary for the continuation of the species and is actively desired by both genders because both enjoy it. If someone has pain during sex, they need to go to the doctor, it's not natural, nor do men have an interest in causing their women pain during sex. Don't be ludicrous.

Let’s also remember that just because someone has a connection with you and goes to tea parties with you sometimes doesn’t mean that they’ll always like tea just because it’s you. Even if they seem prepared, it’s still important to ask. Many physical responses to tea don’t always mean the mind is also consenting. Always ask if they want tea. If they seem like they don’t want all of it, don’t force them to take all of it. They may have only wanted some.

But I do want a cup of tea sometimes when I'm unconscious, or drunk, or stoned. What's wrong with me consenting to tea under these situations? I like to be drinking tea as I'm sleeping. I usually ask my partner to try and not wake me while serving me tea in my sleep Then in my dream I get to drink tea with Loni Anderson, Rachel Welsh, or Cleopatra. Sometimes I'm drinking tea with an entire group in Wonderland and my partner is Alice. So I get to experience things I'd be unlikely to do in reality. Sometimes I wake up in the middle and that's fine too, and I'm awake having tea with my partner but really turned on because I was just having tea with the Queen of England in my sleep. Having tea while drunk is great because it lowers my inhibitions and also makes my tea partner look fabulous. It becomes a more giddy tea party. I also tend to enjoy my tea longer and my partner enjoys the tea party lasting much longer too. We both also have impaired judgment and will have a much wilder tea party than normal. The next day we are like, "I can't believe we finally tried that. Boy was that great." I have known women who say having tea while stoned is just like being awake while having sex with Alice from Wonderland while half being there. I've known women who want to be stoned every single time they do it. But their seems to be a quandary. They want this experience and yet some people argue that a stoned person does not have the capacity to consent to tea, which would make it a crime. But if you think about it more they women are actually wanting to consent to being victimized like this. But wait. If you consent to being victimized with tea while stoned then is it victimization any more? The reality of the kind of tea parties I have is that usually we are both providing tea to each other simultaneously. This is impossible when both of us are unconscious. However, sometimes we both like to be drunk, stoned, or drunk & stoned to the point where we couldn't drive, sign a will, or make an important financial decision. Blasted to the point were we couldn't consent to purchase an annuity. Yet we serve each other tea anyway. We like it and we don't regret it the next day either. So are we both guilty of serving tea to someone else without their consent. Should we both be dragged off to jail for six month prison sentences like the Stanford rapist or even worse? So many questions. Tea drinking really isn't that simple after all. Is it?

Screaming for help, throwing the cup in the tea-assailant’s face and running away should not be necessary either to escape the tea or to prove that the tea was not wanted. To add to the metaphor... If you ask someone if they want tea and they reply with, "I'll just have some hot water, thanks." Don't try to slip a tea bag in there. Sometimes people just want hot water. Vice versa, if you want tea. Say you want tea. Don't say "hot water", that just confuses people. Hot water is hot water, tea is tea. Yes, hot water can sometimes turn into tea. Fact still remains that the person still has to say that they want a tea bag thrown in the mix.

Yeah, a practical example of this in a person's sex life. You just want to get to second base with your partner and are not prepared for sex in its complete form. Possibly because you know that neither of you have protection, and for you, that is a mandatory requirement. When the two of you get to second base, your partner wants to go all the way, and will not take no for an answer.

There's something missing in the video about persuading people who are unsure about drinking tea. That gaslighting people into having some tea or using your position of power so the person will prefer to drink the tea even if they dont want to. Consent is not "that easy". It is not only about getting a "yes". In too many cases gaslighting of vulnerable people can lead to barely getting a "yes" but this is still sexual abuse.

How do you gaslight someone into having tea? You tell them either they drink it or you give it to someone else? That is not gas lighting. That is someone who doesn't want your tea thinking they are entitled to tell you who you give your tea to. It is so strange to live in a world where the person offered the tea pretends like they have this unbearable burden because they want to control the people offering them tea. If you don't want the tea you have no right to demand they keep their tea cups available to you just because they like you. So many tea drinkers expect the offerer to be beholden to them. So much so any push back from an offerer is considered an offense. You don't want to drink the tea? don't. It is that simple. The problem is you want the right to use their tea cups to hold your shit. Preventing them from making tea for someone who would gladly drink their tea while asking them be ok with you not drinking their tea.Sexual abuse is when you make someone drink your tea. Not when someone thinks they have to drink your tea so they can dictate who you offer tea to... Maybe someone should make a video teaching people that. If you were forced to drink it you are a victim. If you agree to when you don't want to, you are not. YOU made a dumb decision. And all you have to do is not make another. And not expect other people to give YOU authority over themselves that YOU wouldn't give them over you.
@sarah97365 жыл бұрын
@@JRMCNEA I don't know what you are talking about. It's about manipulating people who don't really know what tea is, means, or know the consequences, making them think that drinking tea is necessary to pay something back, that you'll get in trouble if you don't drink their tea, that it is a "matrimonial duty", that "it's not so bad to endure drinking tea if I do it for them"... As long as there are no genuine feeling of wanting tea even if the victim themselves manages to rationalize the act to forget/not get in trouble/restore their mental health, there is no consent... when a lot of people say "it's not sexual abuse it's regret" they refuse to acknowledge that people manage to break free from the rationalization and find out they were not able to consent. Rationalizing a "kind" boyfriend who helps you in your daily life but threatens to break up when you don't want sex is really really easy and happens all the time ("he's too kind I don't want to lose him, I don't really know if I want to do it, if he really wants it it's not so bad if I just let him, it'll just be too exhausting standing up to him, it's not really rape if he doesn't physically force me").
