Much agreed. Still he should been the passenger first and let her explain the process of driving with a manual and using the clutch. Also he should have been made to practice working through the gears in conjunction with using the clutch before they even started moving. Lastly as others have mention should have started the lesson in a parking lot.

@@klasified1 I'd forgive all his driving miscue's because the lack of proper instruction before taking the drivers seat (see notes above..). What I can't forgive is him taking phone calls (wouldn't care if his house were on fire..) while taking a driving lesson and blocking traffic in the middle of the road - serious WTF moments! Actually if the local police see this video he could be ticketed (after the fact..) for such blatant driving violations. Hope they do. Furthermore as a driving instructor she should have just said, "Don't answer that.". If he insisted doing so I would have ended the lesson immediately, made him get in the passengers seat and driven him back to the school & finished by saying, "Get out, you obviously don't know the basic rules of the road & no refund for you!" Off soap box..

I mean, yeah he played it up a bit to add humour which he usually does. She seemed nice enough, but her teaching was horrible. Manual is complicated when you first start. She says "release clutch, shift, and go" basically then just told him to try again from there, she didn't fully explain anything or correct him. Plus, you never learn to drive standard in traffic, that's insane. She seemed like a very bad teacher. Teaching is a skill, and a lot of people don't have it.

@@d-rockanomaly9243 It's fairly normal over here to have your first lesson ever in traffic, with a manual transmission car. I certainly had mine without any previous instruction, no parking spot practice or anything, and it worked out fine. It's really just a matter of getting used to it, and getting an explanation that works for you. For me it was "listen to the pitch of the engine as you release the clutch. Hold it at that tone, and you'll start rolling. If the tone gets lower, just kick in the clutch quickly and try over".

Switching lanes by going for the order "signal, mirror, shoulder"? Wtf? First thing you do is check your mirror, then use your signal. ALWAYS check mirrors first, turning on signal doesn't mean you can and may switch lanes. The fact that these 'schools' can teach you how to drive a manuel after your driver's license is astonishing actually. In my country you get a seperate lincense if you did the exam with an automatic. You do the exam with a manuel you for sure can master an automatic, not vice versa.

devi seems like a nice driving instructor. she has a calm vibe about her, which is an attribute many anxious students will appreciate. the first driving class I ever did was with an old white guy who kept pulling the steering wheel away from me. he seemed to really want me to know that I was a bad driver. at the end of the lesson, when I told him I was not underage and therefore would not need to complete the driving hours component to get my license, he seemed to change his tune immediately and told me I was a good driver and that I would pass my test. some people are just out to get money. this woman seens legit.

Not saying I am a good teacher, cuz I'm not.... but neither is she.

Did this lady legit just start a driving school out of her house?

Jason Peng that’s how a lot of commercial buildings are in nyc, business on the first floor and residential on the upper levels.

It's more common than you think. My uncle in Puerto Rico owns a convenience store and bar on the lower level and they live on the second level.

Why did she get 4 stars, that was a awful lesson. She didn't explain what the clutch does or how it works.

I don’t like the bit where they pretend to be holding up traffic and then she just runs out of the car. I usually like the goofy shit he does

He rudely interrupted the lesson and disobeyed the instructor by flat out stopping the car in the MIDDLE of traffic to pick up his phone 🤦♀️ I would run away too if he put me in danger, didn't listen to me, then didn't stop talking. She was so professional at her job and responded really well to the reviews. The title is misleading and unfair to her and her business. Taji put her in a risky situation - not to mention everyone else on the road. She valued her safety and was mindful of the road but he couldn't even show the same level of respect. Do anything you want for reveiws but don't put others at risk.

She seemed fine. I actually commend her for not stopping the lesson while he was being intentionally difficult.

My mom got her license young because she had to prove to a judge that she was fit to be Emancipated. Her sister was a police officer and made her take defensive driving classes at the police academy. My mom is a fucking nuts driver. She can drive with her knees, and could drive a race car backwards. She has never been in an accident that was her fault. She would scare the shit out of anyone that wasn’t used to her driving, but you’d know damn well she’d drive like hell to get to safety before she’d ever let anyone in the car get hurt. *this dude should have actually listened instead of bullshitting this lady, especially living in New York, he could have learned some good pointers from this lady*

It's weird cause the reviews are always from normal people (without a VICE camera crew) but Taji always shows up with the VICE camera crew, These people from the worst rated reviews see the camera crew and know they gotta give 110% instead of 10% right??~@!

Like seriously? I'll have to give YOU a -1⭐ review just for answering the phone while you're in the middle of taking a driving class! I was with you all the way up till that point.

I find it hilarious that people learn in only automatic first. Learn to drive manually, then you can buy/use both types off cars when you get your licence. And use both in most countries as well. So much easier that way.
@Big-Government-Is-The-Problem3 жыл бұрын
that would be so stressful learning a manual like that on open roads with so much traffic

She shouldn't be teaching people to drive a manual transmission car in full traffic, someone beginning to learn needs to understand bite control, somewhere quiet like a parking lot would be much safer. I nearly choked on my drink when she keeps telling him to use the clutch before the brake, it should always be taught as brake before clutch as you keep control of the engine, clutch down before breaking is freewheeling your engine and would result in a minor on your test in the uk, you must always be in control of your engine.
