I loved the strategies that Cecile mentions in this TED talk. It is so important for the communication lines to be open between parents and teachers. I enjoyed the approaches mentioned. The newsletter is an interesting idea and for high school level or even middle school level classrooms, you could even get the students to play a role in the publishing process. The open house was a simple but excellent concept that would allow the parent-teacher relationship to get off to a strong start. I also enjoy surveys that truly causes parents to think and be engaged in their children's learning. Learning happens beyond the classroom and parents play a critical role in ensuring that it happens.

District: We Have NO Money... COVID: Reeeally??? Parents: For Real??? - District: We Lied...But Give Us Time to Sort Out The Steal...We Mean Our Spin Story...We mean our excuse....who are we kidding...just blame teachers (then lift up students and parents so we the district still look good) when all else messes up...there problem solved.

"I'm a parent, I don't look like it, but I am." What does that even mean?

I think it was just a motivational introduction 😂😂😂. I asked myself the same question, what is the point of saying this sentence?

The average teacher was a low performing student with a below average SAT and attended a teachers college. They lack subject matter expertise- that’s why your children can’t read or do long division. The speaker just used the word “axe” rather than ask. The prosecution rests.
