Geez. Parents are the topic she chose and, from my experience, it's right on. If you want to present a Ted Talk on Teachers and if you can get an invite, I'm sure they'll let you choose your own topic. It's silly to complain that she doesn't cover the topic you want her to. Believe me, she could handle it too if that's what she chose to talk about. And "us" against "them" is oversimplifying. She's not talking about all parents. Just a select group that can be troublesome.

Where I work these types of parents don't exist. This is a speech of the type of upper class parents that teachers hate .Not relevant to the majority of us.

hmmm.... let's hear about the "types" of teachers too! c'mon! one sided and biased . I'm sure this teacher is great but not all are.

What a cynical rant.

I have watched and totally enjoyed many Ted talks. This particular talk is by far the worst Ted talk that I have viewed! I am a retired teacher who taught for over 30 years . This presenter and her generalizations about the different types of parenting seemed to be more of a comic routine by a poor comic who constantly nervously laughed at her own jokes.
