Thanks for the Video! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Schallingora Information Investigation Scheme (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome one off guide for learning what you need to say to get hired in a job interview minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my buddy at very last got astronomical success with it.

For question #6. I've tried very hard to prepare engaging, fun lessons. I share the rules from the beginning of the year, but I still have discipline problems (students talking all the time, interrupting, not paying attention, etc) It is so frustrating.

Question #5, did you mean "visual" , auditory and kinesthetic styles?
@stephenshadle9052
@stephenshadle9052 3 жыл бұрын
The benefits of teaching to student "learning styles" is a debunked theory that's not backed up by data. Nevertheless, it's a very popular idea in education.
@stephenworldwide
@stephenworldwide 3 жыл бұрын
@@stephenshadle9052 Does that mean all students learn the same way? It's not useful for teachers to vary their lesson activities to meet student's differing abilities and strengths?

I'm majoring in Education and I'm very passionate about the students. As a teacher, one thing that's been emphasized is the importance of not placing stereotypes on students and the misrepresentation of students. I thoroughly appreciate this information that you've provided to teacher candidates, however, one thing that's bothersome about this video is that everytime you chose to illustrate an African-American student he was dressed like a thug. I can't, no matter how hard I try to, ignore this degrading misrepresentation of those students. That may have not been your motive, at least I hope not, but that gives the wrong depiction of students.
@TeachingsinEducation
@TeachingsinEducation 5 жыл бұрын
Debny Taylor, First off I don’t draw the images, they are a part of the software. In no way did I imply black students are thugs, it is actually you that is making that assumption. I have many many videos, and in some it’s a dark skinned student represented a type of student and in the other videos it is a lighter skinned student. You are cherry picking this video while other videos I may use white students to represent a type of students. Please watch all the videos before you make such a disgusting accusation. YOU are the one assuming the a drawing of a student with a backwards hat or a hood represents a thug. If you pay attention, there is a drawing of a successful black teacher early on. Sometimes I’ll use a white person to be the successful teacher. You are just looking for negatives instead of the positives.

I know this is like a job I wanted and can't even think of that I don't even know how my GED because I suffered in school cause I never when I was not I was in resource and yeah you have hands on but there's other kids there was only one other aid to help with the teacher herself himself But it was the hands on that I needed that I'm not complaining but I knew I was in some sort of special education just not the one I wanted not what I it did I'm supposed to be shamed for the friends I have I guess but I'm not I swear sweit is would have been my dream job and mean I don't even know if I'd feel like being in the school but yeah I'd probably go home with you Even if I could be like a big buddy toe one little kid no matter what disability I should say abilities now because basically they're just like everyone else and I know how mis understood I felt and still do I did nothing but struggle but I know how I have a gift I can reach anyone I had the patience but if it is autism I don't know still I'm saying the truth this is how I grow up This is I'd like to share my story with anyone who would want to know I can't remember at 3 years old my 1st day of school cause it's really really curious and as I was I knew that was very shy can say what I remember probably what I did from remembering when 5 years old was one of the roughest years I've ever gone through in Why I remember how I could have patience but if it doesn't matter then it's tough that even for me because I do help a lot of the people I know who I see sometimes I'm sure it's I make sure I have the 1 1st one to say Hi cause it means a lot to them basically they thought I was just some kids who struggle and then they put me in special 11 high school and they thought that it was a risk everything went wrong and anything went messing that oh it must have been that kid that we took a chance on you basically had That's as hard too they basically thought I didn't do my work in high school it was easy work for anyone else maybe even for the but I knew it and this is one thing I know now I will suddenly my last year I had in school I went 23 years that's Max 23 years old I was up the door oh we think you're relaxed this looks like they said I said maybe they could have caught that maybe 20 years later it couldn't save me a lot of misery I may be special ed 8 by now my dream job and if so even if I got to meet a little body young as old as I think maybe I could deal with this maybe 14 that's how I wanted to reach it no matter what I'll try to make a friend and I'm sure it'll makes me feel much more better knowing that hes has that I'm his special friend I don't care how special you think I am or how I come off I shouldn't even throw the special round that just like everybody else maybe they're just a little bit more special than everyone that I treat him like anyone else but one thing I know I would never get in a fight with anyone from special ed no matter what did bilingual In special ed area in the high school is basically special ed but the specialist also included by a lingo in which it was kind of odd because I mean this electric we're like the only ones who communicate but we got along with everyone in the class cause it's kind of confusing when I had the speaker's app but I'm speaking fluently like I can but I struggle with II know a lot about English it's not my set but I know how to speak proper English that's what I like to do that's what I got into I 42 years old my favorite thing to do was watch Alpha Hitchcock presents with my mom and that's why I couldn't get half my life back I'd be the h*** of a lot If I touched so many teeth I should say people like me will son I'm confusing and I know you're reading this is probably gonna come up what is he talking about oh I tried I tried I had this I can't see it very well I need the surgery dumb but that's a whole lot of story and this is very long I hope Someone at least reasons says How you've been treated in special evidence and you did not get that the whole maybe I would have been putting regular classes at 1 time I'd still miss my little body's big buddies I was always a Big Brother to everyone no matter that's how I felt no matter how old I was young I wasn't how I was always a big boy the biggest friend that I feel like a kind of felt bad that everyone had to rush out and say Hi to me when I was in cloud Just to say Hi to someone who's a sbut they thought I have tough time saying this and I don't want to say anything that hurt anyone if I did just tell me what you have I probably take the this whole thing down cause I'm kind of confused I should B at least I haven't something I would have loved to even meet them one I want to be some kind of counselor For the like I had that kind of help me with stuff get me I was and then I knew the work that's coming I like know this work it's awesome do the easy way out when I was not in special ed and it's hard it was hard and school for me I struggled and I'm not saying no a struggle in special ed that must be the only kid to the evidence field special land and that's kind of hot shimmy eats even tough to think about That's hard for me at struggle every time I can I almost cried every time I was treated diffrom the kids that had abilities thinking I don't have any but I'm talking like I should be but I know I must have reached some kind of point and I just have to think if you read it give me a thumbs up I just want to know if anybody is reading this long thing that I notice yeah it's pretty long so enter Thank you by the way

I didn't even like to help kids get on the bus crossing every day put them if they have to use chair get them on that boss I'd be my favorite job I could do Even if I did not feel good I'd make it every day 11 other than not one getting sick I'd be there every day To help someone to get on that bus as soon as possible not so much as a dream job I enjoy it help those kids get to school I'm sure a lot of them wanna go to school see their than siblings I don't know how many friends these kids have to hang around get to hang around with I can honestly say I'll do anything I make friends I really have friends who I look at data even though this I look up to them more than they look up to me because they treat me with nothing with respect and I feel that I feel how much joy is this they get to Ashley saying how are you have to say it Just as much as them and they at least probably have a high school diploma by now and I hope they all got to do that I know I missed a lot of graduations and diplomas and if I could get I struggled everyday how my education and ended up I had it all lost it I was in specialized and now I can say I was never embarrassed I was nothing but kind to them kids I miss it I miss my education especially the special part cause that's how I feel I was a special one day regularly mean cause I was confused ever since I was 3 years old gone to school this is what I think I say wrong things that can remember how I felt like when I've seen people that had something I didn't and I thought maybe I didn't fit in that's how I feel every day I had to Go out of my way to just know I've met a kid as well he is I don't know how old he is but a program that I'm at least getting close to Ellie's trying to get my GED but my worst subject is math I don't know how to share with that but other than point pencil up paper I'm gonna have a lot of work to do Thank you again

Getting to know your student's names is a challenge, but a quick solution is to have a seating chart. This way you can look down on that chart and get the name of each student in your classroom. Also helps in taking attendance.

Rikki Sjoeberg, Homework and practice is absolutely important. Look at Marzano’s research and his effectiveness yield for Homework. If you have evidence to dispute his research then we will talk. Also I have flipped the classroom, and it’s more than just assigning a video and reading, students must be held accountable. Don’t be a lazy teacher!!!! ASSIGN HOMEWORK!

Flip classroom takes students to commit to learning about the concepts before doing the classwork which is also homework (practicing skills based on what they learned but done in the classroom).
