There is no link, I just make it every week using a template my friend gave me years ago that she made!

Hi Brianna, Could you share a little more about how you teach both the 2nd and 3rd grade groups. Do you teach 2nd and 3rd grade lessons for both reading and math? If so how do you make it work. I'm teaching a 2nd and 3rd grade combination class at a charter school (which means it's just me for both grade levels -no team!) and we use Wonders as well. So I 'm trying to decide how to use both grade level Wonders books without driving myself crazy (with anchor text, reading writing companions and assessments)! I love all your videos by the way!! Thanks 😊

I do teach both lessons for reading and math! I have structured the lessons to be more of mini-lessons (12-15 min each) so that I still have plenty of time for small groups. While I teach one group, I try to keep what the other group is doing consistent so it’s predictable for them. For math, they typically work on iReady lessons on their laptop (our county provided learning platform), and they do the same for reading or indepdent reading. It’s a bit of a juggling act with the different resources, but 2nd and 3rd actually align very well! Most days what we work on are actually the same pages, just in the different books! Daily Wonders Lesson Structure: The good thing about following the two week text sets is they line up very well for both grade levels! Day 1 (Monday): introduce genre, interactive read aloud, vocabulary focus, pass out reading homework (text set assessment) Day 2 (Tuesday): Companion story with read prompts/companion reading skill pages Day 3 (Wednesday): Read and correct homework together (the text set assessment - there are two per text set, so I assign one a week) Day 4 (Thursday): Companion story with reread prompts/companion reading skill pages Day 5 (Friday): Introduce anchor text, preview story, begin reading Day 6 (Monday): Review genre, anchor text retell, make predictions, finish the story, assign second homework from the text set Day 7 (Tuesday): Retell story together in entirety, companion reading skill pages Day 8 (Wednesday): Read and correct homework together (the text set assessment) Day 9 (Thursday): Partner read anchor text, complete paired selection together (in companion) Day 10 (Friday): Review vocabulary, Anchor text assessment

LOL!!! I love it!!! Did you use an incubator? We keep playing around with the idea of letting one of our broody girls sit on some fertilized eggs!

@@abubblyclassroom I bought a incubator then put our fertilized in it. The kids and school went crazy for it. Our classroom had so many visitors. I highly recommend it.

I have question... are your students expected to write their headings...in their mote books everyday.. Eg student's name, the school's name, date, and class. Where i teach thats something they write daily
@abubblyclassroom Жыл бұрын
I have them write the date whenever we use our math notebooks to keep our learning organized, but it isn't a requirement across the board in my area. Those are great habits though!
