Zack Snyder on Film Criticism and Meaning: A #FullCircle Interview ➡ bit.ly/3WJwwZy

REPOSTED FROM LIVE CHAT for Rebecca, her interviewee, and others who see this: “What are your thoughts on Young Christopher Reeve Clark claiming that ‘There was nothing I could do to save Pa’ be taken at his word, when really he could have picked Pa up and zoomed over to Smallville Clinic? - Note that this is also a version of Clark who was NOT being warned by his dad to not show off his powers, AND had on the same day outran a speeding train and did not care who the heck saw him doing that!”

Wonderful video! I’ve recently gone back and listened to Doc’s MoSAIC podcast and select episodes from Scott and Tim’s DC Squadcast. I’m not online much anymore but I’ll never forget the wonderful memories I’ve had being part of the DCEU fandom and the Snyder Cut movement.

@@RetroNerdGirl Damian is awesome! I know we talked about doing something on BvS for my channel, but since I haven’t done a lot with Man of Steel here, perhaps we can team up for something about that film? Hope for more collaborations in the future!

Don't know if it's that fair when everyone has different opinions on Zack Snyder Movies. I know for a fact that there are people who I've talked to that love BvS or 300, but won't give Watchmen or Suckerpunch a shot(the real underrated ZS movies in my opinion) Interesting point on the general consesus opinion on Marvel films though, I totally agree.

Great video! Very rarely watch a KZbin video over an hour long, but it's so nice to actually hear something positive about Zack Snyder. A lot of people out there really need to learn how to challenge themselves on how to critique film.

Snyder is an amazing artist and all his movies are ahead of their time. Not to mention his films age like fine wine. It boggles my mind when I hear ppl trashing a Snyder film but then under the same breath admit that they've never seen it 🙄🤦🏻

All of your critical review of critics for BvS on this channel, do you have them on a blue ray disc ?

Zack snyder is an excellent visual director. I actually think he was the right man to helm the DCEU however from MOS to JL there is so much thematic disharmony. Take MOS, krypton falls because their society has become deterministic. With everyone having predetermined roles, predetermined births. It is also telling that their chief scientist(appointed world smartest man) jor el actually tells them the planet is doomed and they should go to the stars (which they have the means to do and have done so before). This implies that kryptons way of life is wrong. Meanwhile on earth what we see of clark is that there is no talk of freedom, morality, doing good. His dad just wants him to hide and his mum says "save them or dont". Clark is just a good dude because "he's better". Which is a fair enough thesis for a superman film but the opening has all but claimed that krypton has lost the ability to produce "better". For all their technological and physical superiority which is expertly portrayed. These beings are gods that humanity can only watch helplessly but for all that they are culturally dead. This culminated in a superman that has his wonderful godgiven moral superiority stripped when he has to kill zod. If they were going to say he's just better. Then hed have to find a way to subdue zod without killing him because thats just what superman would do. But instead we have this morally superior yet pragmatic superman. I still like the film but you see what im saying it gets a bit disharmonious and this continues into bvs

Man of Steel was just ok. Ha few good moments but not great. BvS however is one of the most disappointing comic book films I’ve ever seen. So many aspects of that film are very flawed and makes little sense.
