I say "Fini" and use a hand signal (rotating my hand at the wrist back and forth; as if showing both side of my hands, that I have nothing for them).

@@JamiePenrithDogTraining No Jamie, your berating behavior has nothing to do with any truth. Brian took the time to watch the video and comment. Positive reinforcement works well for humans too. You can easily be factually on point and unhelpful (putting it politely) at the same time. Even if Brian missed an earlier opportunity, he's working in the right direction now to help his pooch. Your choice is to be supportive or "factually on point". What would you offer him to help his dog at this stage?

G Gr I also took the time to watch the video and comment. Do you notice how your own comment cannot resist an undertone of punishment? I gave you an answer, and yet your instinctive response was to reject it and reinforce your own statement “your berating behaviour has nothing to do with any truth” - you continued with “unhelpful (putting it politely)”, because my comment triggered a visceral response within you, one which you subsequently defended and reinforced through repetition. What you did not do however, somewhat ironically yet absolutely predictably, was metaphorically ‘fold your arms and turn away’, because making your ‘point’ is more valuable to you than practising what the video recommends and what you are defending - to ignore unwanted behaviour and witness the strength of a notoriously weak extinction protocol. Fascinating isn’t it! I predict that either yourself or someone else who has been equally emotionally whisked by this thread, will reply again, even though I - and R+ favoured scientific cherry picking - will actually put down in text, that I will cease commenting so long as you opt to ignore my ‘berating’ behaviour by simply having the restraint over yourself to ignore me and walk away .... simple - and effective ... 😉 Happy training
