Great video. Going to show this to my wife so hopefully she can understand it better. She was pushing the board away every time last time she tried to surf just as you explained in your video. Going to show her your 3 step approach and she should get it better than I’ve tried to explain it haha. 🤙

@@Sunni_days Whenever I can convince someone new to go, or if my daughter brings friends from NAU. We were all new at the start of last season so we struggled at times to give consistent instruction when someone joined us for the first time. Now we have a great method to use!

@@jeffwilliams1322 That's great! This is the reason I made this video. To arm fellow boaters with the tools they need to share their love of boating with others! A boat does great at convincing "kids" to come back home, even when they are in college 🤪

Having a life jacket that keeps your head and as much of your shoulders out of the water as possible is helpful. I’ve had bigger guys or just anyone who was too far down in the water struggle because they needed leverage to push the board down. It’s hard to do when your head is barely out of the water and your life jacket is around your ears because it’s too big or doesn’t fit snuggly.
@Sunni_days3 жыл бұрын
That is a good point. I will probably do a future video on how to properly fit a life jacket. I can use your input in the video. Thanks 🙏

Please I need advice I have tried 8 times and I can’t get up, i feel a lot of strain in my calves and they lock and hurt really bad , I’m just drowning in a bunch of water and fighting a massive wave to get up I don’t know what I’m doing but it’s superrrr frustrating
@alyssacall84502 жыл бұрын
Idk if the board is too big or what but I struggle flipping the board up and it hurts my calves a lot and fighting the wave while my calves hurt and trying to get up seems impossible
@Sunni_days2 жыл бұрын
Dang. Sorry that it is frustrating. I can understand. Thanks for commenting. I definitely want to help. It is a difficult thing to flip the board up on your feet. It is easiest for me to help you if you send me some video of you trying to get up wakesurfing. Do you have any video? If you have videos here is my facebook, please send me a message. facebook.com/blake.wasden The basics for getting the board to flip up on your feet are: 1. Have your feet almost on the backside edge of the board, with toes pointed to the sky 2. Have tension in the rope 3. Raise your hands up 4. Push your heels straight down With this method you should be able to flip the board up on your feet. However, there is sometimes where the board is just too big and it is difficult for someone to flip up the board. I typically see this with women/girls who are a little smaller.

What type of board and will you recommend for a beginner? I’m 5’ tall 98lbs. I’m still having trouble getting up consistently, but gotten up twice before

Liquid force happy pill 4’6”
@Sunni_days2 жыл бұрын
@@mariatecson2464 Dang, unfortunately, that board is just slightly too big for you. One thing that will help while using the Liquid Force Happy Pill 4'6" is to make sure to put your heels all the way on the backside edge. As I show in the video at 4:20 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGOrmJKPramJp80. The board I would recommend for your size is the 1. Hyperlite Gromcast - amzn.to/3PlpvcA or 2. Swell Pepin (This is the board we use in our family) - bit.ly/3Pm3VoX

Awesome. Do you have the GS22 or GS24? For me to best help you you should send me a message on Facebook. I’ve helped many people through Facebook messenger. It’s best to see pictures or videos of your riding and I can give feedback on the video. I typically take screen shots and draw out diagrams to help you start to surf consistently without the rope.
