I broke a foot with a toe hold in tournament. He didn't tap. I felt and heard the middle of his foot break. He ended up twisting out of it and recovering his guard to eventually finish the whole match. I learned that day the difference between painful submissions and choke finish submissions. People with high stakes don't care about breaks all the time (except heel hooks.)

Yeah happened twice to me. I told one of the guys (smaller comp) and he stopped, however in panpacs the guy just kept rolling as the adrenaline allowed him to push through it. Funny thing. He won the match on points but could not progress as his ankle blew up and started hurting.... if it’s in a comp. I’ll use it but not to put my self in sacrifice position to get it

never apologize for long videos. the details are what make this video great. question. in what ways would you get more torque out of this technique? ive had instances where im fully locked in but im unable to get the tap/break. elbows to the sides and curling the palms? thanks!

I wonder how it's different for if they're wearing trainers or wrestling shoes? on the one hand I assume it will be easier to grip, but on the other hand you can't squeeze the foot from the bottom since the thick rubber sole will protect it. also the foot might slip around inside the shoe giving it lots of space so the opponent doesn't need to tap.
@greenbeenie213 жыл бұрын
Coach, does this work the same if the guys wearing shoes? Or do you have to make adjustments?

1:31, why is it illegal?
@koalaofdeath20454 жыл бұрын
Been thinking about this submission a lot lately, not because I know how to do it (now I do) but because I feel like when people try to get it on me I often wiggle my foot out quite easily or they're a higher belt and they don't want to crank it I think so they just move on to something else. Is the toe hold very common at higher levels of competition? I feel like when I see it it usually just leads to something else. I feel like I rarely see a tap from a toe hold at black belt? I watch mostly no-gi stuff, not sure if it might be more common in the gi.
@kempbrown61634 жыл бұрын
Outside toe hold is basically an inside heel hook, but with even less time to tap

@@SolarJakee true, but you don't need to be forthcoming with the police. Say you had an altercation. But first, don't answer the door. If he's going to rat you out for this, say you both fell at the same time. Or say he fell weird. If there is video footage, RUN!
