I like how you broke this down I already understood the position but I feel like you've now enhanced my game and my ability to control. Thankful for what you do.

Hello Coach Brian. I roll with lot of flexible people so top stoner is my go to position when i get half bottom lockdown or the top lockdrag. I liked a lot your variations for the vaporizer. I like to add that you can go for americana on the far arm or the apollo 14 choke. More attacks from top stoner control that amazing position.

Coach one arm collar and one arm ready to punch both standing and mounted position...self defence....thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Something I think you missed, that I found with a training partner trying to learn this, is that your ankle needs to be close to your knee in the lockdown to pull off the knee bar without using a ton of effort. If it’s too low on your leg it takes a ton of effort, and the pressure hurts your own shin.
@TeachMeGrappling5 жыл бұрын
Yes you’re right. I didn’t discuss it but that’s how I demonstrate it. This kneebar is so tight sometimes that one can’t move or adjust the legs without injuring the training partner if they aren’t built lanky enough. Thanks for the reminder! 🤙

before i watch - if anything in my ground game is my go-to, it's this. I find the elec chair side easier and higher % than the dogfight/old school side. This is my number channel on youtube, and i skipped this video before, because if i know anything, i know this move... now i watch RELAX GINO! I've honestly never had anyone escape once this sequence is initiated. These days I don't even try elec chair finish, I go right under and pull them down backwards for the twister or bail on all of it and play from side control. The funky knee bar is dangerous, there's a vid of i believe a purple belt Eddie in a gi tourney who lets it go before the tap because he felt the knee just turn to shit (guy was tapping in great pain) I admit i like rolling for the vaporizer, just flashy and even if it misses often end up on the back awesome video, like all these videos. Best fucking channel on youtube

Hey Coach, do you already have a video on the technical stand up sweep from x guard? If not, I'd love to see your details on how to finish the sweep/takedown.

I like when you explain how the technique differs between sport and self-defense applications (and also gi vs. no-gi). Maybe I'm wrong, but this technique (e.g., @~4:45) looks very sport-oriented. When successfully executed, the aggressor is open to hand/ elbow strikes to the head. When it's successfully defended, the aggressor appears vulnerable to _kicks_ to the head--generally not a good thing. Am I missing something?

Also what do people think about inversions in mma clever or stupid? Sort of seems like trying to do a seoi nage in no gi. big fat grey area

Is there more positions like the stoner control that are not submissions but the opponent can't really get up?
@model845 жыл бұрын
crucifix, back mount (you lying on stomach stretch out like a banana), double nelson, the truck, 50/50 maybe, deep half, good north/south control, octopus guard maybe, you'll find some funky positions if you flow roll
@smashmusique5 жыл бұрын
@@model84 And what are the ones that work in mma?
@model845 жыл бұрын
@@smashmusique i'm not an MMA player but i'd go with mount, back mount, crucifix, saddle (411)->heel hook, but you have to try yourself, 'cause any other 'transition' position depends on the player
