So beautiful!! I can’t wait to try it! I’ve made a couple of others that were really simple so I am excited to try something more complicated!

Hi, when you do this technique on glass, what kind of base paint should I use ie the white. Does it need to be water based?

Having a heavier white on the gold spots helps. I would love to have this mug

You should definitely make one! Inks are so easy, I love them!

I am needing to do a green with black cup... but I didn't know if I should to do the base color black or white... but I see that you used a white base and it worked out great... but I don't know if it's my phone or my eyes .... but this cup looks blue... not green or teal... lol🤷♀️

It’s one of those colors that doesn’t photograph well. 😁 I had a tough time getting pictures of it afterwards, too. Rainforest green is definitely teal and not the green I anticipated. 😆

I like it with the big patches of gold even though it can take over the design. I have never seen you drop a color into the gold. Hum??? Thanks for sharing

Just to make sure I don’t do it wrong... you add the alcohol inks while the epoxy is still fresh, right?
@ThePurpleStitch3 жыл бұрын
Yep! And thick enough for it to move around but not so much that it drips off.
@batgirl11194 жыл бұрын
i didnt see you using the White... did I missed it or didnt use it? also whats the ratio of epoxy use vs the size of the tumbler?
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
At the 12 minute mark. I like to mix more than I think I’ll use. Typically I will mix 30 mL for a 30 ounce cup and apply as thick as necessary. There’s usually 5-10 mL remaining depending on how much movement I’m going for. If it’s cold, I tend to apply more since it’s harder to get good movement without a lot more heat.

Do you have an example of when you used the gold mixative?
@ThePurpleStitch5 жыл бұрын
I sure don’t 😕. I’ve only used silver mixative and it was a mess since I tried using it like an ink!

Could you get the same effect using mica??
@ThePurpleStitch3 жыл бұрын
It should....but I haven’t tried it.

Are you using a hair dryer?
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
I used to use an embossing gun. I’ve switched to an actual heat gun for movement and torch for bubbles.
@lilycessna30774 жыл бұрын
@@ThePurpleStitch Excellent! It sounded like a hairdryer. LOL So my heating gun will work fine. Thank YOU! Appreciate you!

Could you do this on glass?
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
I have seen people do inks on glass, but I have never tried. I’ve only done a glitter wine glass.

Beautiful Beautiful, you mention a person name Alyssa do you have her KZbin or Fb to view the image you spoke about in this video
@ThePurpleStitch5 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a video or channel for her, it was a video that I watched in a Facebook group. I’m not sure if there is a channel. I’m sorry! I did do a video doing it the way she did in her video. She does the white differently that I do. But she was the first person I saw take the arm off.

How much epoxy did you use?
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
I started with 30 mL but didn’t use it all. You need enough that there’s movement, but not so much that it’s falling off.
@rosalindasanchez19234 жыл бұрын
When you say 30 ml , how much A and how much B ?
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
Rosalinda Sanchez my epoxy is 1:1 ration, so 15 and 15. Some epoxy is a 2:1, so be sure to double check what you have for confirmation. 🙂
