These types of simple slogans don't address the complexity of human interaction. For example- This slogan fits just fine for pets, since they are not credited with possessing disguised manipulation techniques, or fighting previous battles, or carrying emotional baggage. But people know people are self-unaware, and that the 'something wrong' is not really or only about what is immediately happening. Yet they don't know what to do about it, so they must let it slide, and try to earn trust, for the benefit-of-the-doubt about their true motivation. Without trust and appreciation providing 'the free pass' in judgment, it's all hopeless and pointless, anyway, problems or not.

Growing up in an alcoholic/addicted family this was almost every day from my parents.. they thought they were doing what was right by pretending the traumatic events I saw never happened but it was utter confusion.. but I choose to see it as an asset now that I have been healing.. I was raised to question everything but I still love and trust people because I am disabled and have no choice but to rely on others... I talked to the trees because they were always there and relatively constant.. I was never indoctrinated into a dogma and I naturally questioned authority... It was a confusing childhood but I think I woke up sooner than I would have if I hadn't gone through all that

My partner gives me a silent treatment, almost all the time. Every time I’m trying to TALK, kindly and respectfully, with love… he says we don’t have any problems to talk about and that I should stop looking for issues and “stop arguing” 😩 I am so frustrated, so lonely. Why do I even allow this in my life??? I do love him, he has a good heart, but I feel his childhood thought him to never show any emotions other than “happy ones”. He seems “happy” on the outside, but totally unavailable emotionally. It really is killing me, I have no idea how to deal with it, nothing seem to work.

And women 😕 you think women have the best interest at heart until you get to know them. It's like meeting another person entirely, it's frustrating, and annoying, you just want to quit on the world and everything. I can't have a deep, serious conversation without a girl/women without being completely ghosted, ghastly,or given the silent treatment. You tend to be done with that BS,and leave frustrated and done with life; they'll blame you for leaving, for not working it out, understanding, being enough, strong or anything at this point, but never looked at themselves on what they did. And those that do just quit right away.

Ive watched this bf. But this time Im in a totally different place. After abt 3 years of ruminating abt a person who "hurt" me, and discovering my blindspots, I had to accept a few unpleasant truths that Teal brings up here. 1) The person was in pain and was using me as supply to null the pain, 2) because of my codependency patterns of martyr and savior, i was willing to play the role of shameless supplier, 3) therefore when the person "hurt" me, I pretended nothing was wrong bc i was on my spiritual high horse and "healing this person (while neglecting myself), and 4) when i couldnt handle it anymore, I expected the other person to all of a sudden care abt me and my feelings yet not acknowledging the whole time I was pretending to be a Superhero I was not and not setting firm expectation verbally. Contrary to past unconscious perspectives, withdrawal is not an example of setting boundaries and confronting an issue! There's no coming back from this with a person who doesnt have a lot of tolerance for emotional pain and capacity for moving through feelings of shame and lacking the full ability to self-reflect. I, on the other hand, prob hurt this person even more by suggesting a personality disorder and the need to see a therapist. Im currently learning how to take care of myself by focusing on meeting my own needs, setting boundaries and letting others figure out how to heal themselves, and speaking up immediately when i feel taken advantage of, wronged, and hurt, and continuing to work through these codepen patterns and the shame that comes with it. Breaking this caretaking pattern and learning to tale care of my needs brings some tough grey days as I have to confront my own pain but I understand the necessity. Thank you, Teal, for affirming recent revelations and opening the space for courageous spirits to step in and heal for the betterment of humanity.🙏🏽

Thanks for making this video. Each time someone hurt me pretty badly and gaslight me by pretending like nothing happen, I each time fight with the incredible desire to punch the person but I don't cause if I react they will instantly portray me as the "bad guy" for refusing to play their game. I thought for a while that this strategy was in fact a zero sum game. That is, by hurting me and later behaving like nothing happened they instantly shift the responsibility of the conflict on me and if I refuse I will instantly appear as the bad person but if I accept to play their game I lose my authenticity in the process so it was really a no win scenario for me

This happened to me yesterday when I told my mother that I was molested while the abuser was standing there and the whole time he kept saying that it never happened and threatened to shoot me and then the police did NOTHING , they kept coming more than three times and not only that they put the gun in the care of my abuser and told him that he can go and that they can’t take the gun from him even though I am stressed && that I fear for my life. The abuser abused me in more than one way and idk what to do I want to get out of this toxic Family, I am tired of having to be the parent and have to consider my abusers feelings and not “trigger” them. The police made me leave the house after when I told so that the abuser could calm down and relax when that night I never slept and kept trying to figure out where I can go or live. I’m willing to do whatever I have to , to get out of this abusive family....I’m ready to go....I can’t handle this anymore I feel like the world cares more about my abuser than me. I can’t heal in here...I need help but don’t know what to do

Well, factually narcissists and codependents are not the same because there is empathy and a conscience, which separates them. You can discuss behaviours but putting them as one and the same is pretty heavy gaslighting. That being said, I really loved the video otherwise! Thank you for all these informations, especially the ones we might not see when we're in the situation. 👍🏻🙏🏼👏🏼💖 Thank you, that was one of the most helpful and insightful videos recently. ⚘🐞

I actually agree that codependency and narcissism are the same. Being a codepen, i watched one of her videos last year (forget which one) and was shocked to hear this. They are the same because the motives are the same--and that is the desire for validation and attention. Once i swallowed that bitter pill and studied my behavior objectively i was able to get better control of my relationships and break this self-defeating pattern.❤
@gill4263 жыл бұрын
@@aquariusstar7248 You didn't hear what I tried to say. We can argue that patterns and motivations are similar in many ways but it is factually incorrect to say that they're the same. The existence of a moral conscience and empathy is the distinct difference in both the psychology and the actions of a person. To say that this doesn't exist or doesn't make a difference is gaslighting and victim shaming.

I have experienced this, and their denial is so small that it is actually easier to separate yourself from the completely because if they disappear into their own reality then I won't even have a problem with them reappearing in my life. The Dad who does this is completely different, you can't just get rid of him because his denial is so strong that he can ruin allot of stuff just from being around.

A relationship must be based on something that is " real".....copied. Thank you very much for great video.

Yeah I used think overly positive all the time so I could ‘manifest’ my dream, and it works, but there’s more to life than consciously planting positive thoughts! I had to let go of perfectionism to really move forward, I’ve also just posted a comedy skit on my KZbin about letting go you might enjoy too! 🎉💥💪

The samurai, in their practice would meditate on their death. They would visualize being dismembered in every with way. Swords, explosive, ripped apart. This way, when they came to battle they would have already experienced it, therefore fearless. A basketball player does the same laying in bed, visualizing three pointers. Actors will visualize scenes. The archer, a bulls eye. In this way, you can be prepared for anything tomorrow may bring. Maybe we can say dreams are a way of doing thos for us as well?

Thank you Teal 💖 I know you’ve been moving away from esoteric talk but can you explain what’s happening during sleep paralysis? I just got it again after years of not, and it was horrifying. Luckily I called on God and it instantly stopped. Causes? Preventions? Thank you

They’re psychological projections

I would like to hear her perspective too. I hadnt had one in years and had a series of them last year that was really intense! In the process i learned to surrender and use my mind to focus on a positive thought. Came again this year just a few months ago. This time both myself and the person in the dream experienced it. Was strange to watch sb else in the dream be paralyzed by an invisible entity. These moments lasted about 5 secs each and then gone. In the dream we just both looked at each other and telepathically decided to not give it attention to avoid giving it anymore power. Whatever the psych projection is must be diminishing.

Seriously - people can ‘debunk’ Teal all they like - but take some time to really absorb any one of her videos - this one was a doozy - and I defy anyone to say they don’t get some - or in fact immense - insight from it. Every. Single. Sentence. Delivers. Value. And. Truth. Anyone who can’t see this is either very inexperienced in life or very deluded.

I really, really wonder off soaking in these episodes. But, I set a stool in the corner of my room so if anything wants to, can sit down while I talk within the boundaries of my heart. Am I pretending and building a false reality for myself? Doesn't my heart know what is real?
