I wanna visit PDX someday. Lookingninto Drift kits kore lately, have many other kinds of RC. This AE kit sparked my interest more. Cinsidering the MST RMX 2.5 , Reve D RDX , Yokomo RD2.0, and this AE kit... if you were to rank those 4 on which would be the best to get for newbies to drifting, what would you rate them? Looking to get my son and I a kit this winter, maybe 2 ofnthe same or maybe 2 different ones to compare. Cheers

I’ll cover this on Thursday’s stream this week too. If you have a drift track nearby, then I would highly refer to what is mainly being driven there. The ranking would be also subjective to what you already know. If you are familiar with a bit of tuning, then rd2.0 would be at the top of the list. If not, then rdx would be at the top. The AE kit requires a bit of extra attention. The RMX is last in the list. The real answer is to visit a rc drift track and ask questions. More times than not people will let you drive their cars. That way you can get an idea for yourself. PDX has a good variety of different chassis. RD2.0 being the least represented in your list.

@@yadmah, thanks for the reply... I live in Idaho, I don't know of any drift tracks any closer than PDX in Portland... maybe we can get something going near me . I've been into RC for a long time, all sorts from planes to crawlers to a bit of bashing, and my son and I have been pretty heavy into offroad racing for a handful of years now. I'll look into this a bit more, I had been previously considering Yokomo and MST RMX, but now I'm kinda leaning towards Yokomo the most. I see there are drift specific servos, and the Yokomo $80 servo and V4 gyro come up as recommended for the AE kit, I'm assuming those would be good picks, but curious about the need for a drift spec speedo vs a normal racing 10th scale speedo, such as a Tekin or a HW XR10Pro, as we have those hanging around. Also have some 17.5t and 13.5t-8.5t motors around, one is a 10.5 Novak that's older and a bit weak... would that or a 13.5t racing motor work? Cheers!

I used whatever came with the kit. Super G World Championship just concluded the other day. There is a Tech1drift driver with a Corvette body that finished top 16. That would be the guy to ask for sure
