I took my new Reflex 14B to the track to see how it performs on a racetrack! Here are my thoughts and some running footage.

I want to buy this, but this is my first RC and I have a newbie question. I learned in another reviewer's video that it doesn't accept 3s Lipo's out of the box. Why is that? The ESC has a label on its side that says 2S - 3S, so it should be compatible, should it not? Is the 2s limitation on the motor? The other reviewer changed the motor to accept 3s Lipo on this car. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

I've got the truggy body version nice little buggy do you know when the factory team parts are being released? I've searched all over the internet and cant find them yet...also what 1/10 wheels will work with this car ? I was looking at a set of fastrax rally blocks...thanks

Funny you brought up the lag in throttle response, i hate that about my buggy and was wondering what i can do to fix that. Is the esc programable? Or is it just a matter of getting a new one, does changing the RX and TX help with this?

CYCLOPSfpv the hobbywing 16BL30 is supposed to fix the softness, the other half of the problem is the radio and switching to another brand fixed part of the problem. Both help. I think the radio helps more.

Esc is total crap, i put my old mamba max esc in the car and it became a little bullet with more top end and acceleration no more lag huge punch and motor run cooler.

I don't have an EMB-1, but have a WLtoys 144001 which is a clone. Will probably do a comparison on those in another video.

Chris B yeah, out of the box the stock tires and radio are really bad. With some changes it’s working 100x better, I’ll post some new video next time.

1. Upgrading the receiver shouldn't be such a big improvement, but it is on the buggy. Radio is garbage. 2. The wheels/tires. Garbage. DE Racing wheels der-bb-krw rear, der-bb-k4w fronts fit perfect. Add the 1/10 scale tires of your choice. Try to go low profile or trim the body a little behind the fronts. 3. Yeah, esc is HW rebrand and it is not programmable. 4. Stock shock oil is 30wt. Change to 20wt, car absorbs more, deflects/bounces way less. Also isn't too bad with 30wt if you can really drive the car hard. See above wheel/tire mod. Overall though, once the weaknesses are fixed, this thing RIPS! Did a few other mods(Factory Team parts, sensored motor and esc, etc) and set it up for carpet. On a tight track, this thing can OWN 1/10 scales, when properly set up. And, once the racing is over, it is super durable and can handle big airs and backyard bashing. A great roller from AE. Only problem is the couple of bad(cheap rtr) parts hold it back.

jason is that throttle lag all on the esc? should i swap it. I really hate that lag. Any recommendation on something that wont break the bank?

@@cyclopsfpv7969 the radio is the real culprit. Changed mine out to a 3PV from Futaba. Made the car way more driveable and the throttle isn't as "on/off".

The HW branded esc is way better. Enables programming. Doesn't get hot either.

The reflex's tires are just plain awful. They rely on LC racing and losi tire market, which is not bad. But for an rtr it falls behind because of the horrible tires. Get an LC racing or losi mini 8ight tires.
