Ehh I don’t think as much as one may think. Unless if the wrestlers have some type of submission grappling experience. Chael sonnen has talked about it on the joe rogan podcast, he said bjj is a wrestlers kryptonite. Wrestlers are known for not being good on there back, and get to focused on transitions and end up getting submitted. Really it depends which wrestlers I suppose but I personally think the bjj guys would win 7/10. I would rather see judo vs wrestling

To act like this is not 2-2 is ridiculous. Ishii man-handled that guy. The idea that slamming someone into the mat and pinning them down the entire time being worth nothing; That's a pretty stupid concept/rule. These Judokas are competing in a rule set that specifically caters to bjj guys. The Judokas could have pinned and immobilized almost every one of the bjj guys, but they didn't attempt to because pinning isn't allowed or rewarded. I've seen a ton of Judokas compete in Nogi Jiu Jitsu, but not too many bjj guys ever compete in Judo Tournaments. They wouldn't do well.

6:10 I'm perplexed by the lack of answers to a choke from guard from Tokoro, I I always hear they are easy to defend, and the guy has wins over big names like Royler Gracie. Is there something I don't see here ? And what were the best defensive options from him once the choke was established ?
@wrybread5 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. But on the replay they showed him doing the defense I'd have thought was correct, which was elevating his hips... I think it came down to size difference, and the fact that he couldn't get his right arm between him and the guy's neck. I'm guessing this guy gets this choke (ezekiel) all the time. Curious to hear what other people think he should have done.
