Traxxas takes advantage of low-information consumers, and the Jato might be the worst example of it. Lets say a newbie walks into a Traxxas retailer and impulse-buys a Jato because they don't know what that type of vehicle should cost. They get the Traxxas batteries and maybe a couple more Traxxas cars later on, now they're in the ecosystem, they're financially and emotionally invested but all they know is Traxxas. These are the people you see embarrassing themselves in the comments making excuses for products that are objectively bad value for money because they literally don't know what else is out there. Anyone who thinks about this hobby as a community should be bothered by this. I sure am.

I understand what you are saying.... but at the end the day the people you label embarrassing themselves is a bit much in my opinion, at the end of the day as long as they are happy and having fun that's really all the matters. Just saying....

​@@RBRC1but they are being ripped off in that they spent more for inferior products. I was one of those people for a long time. I was a koolaide drinking brainwashed Traxxas fanboy. I really believed they were special and worth more because of that. I was that person defending them in the comments and it is somewhat embarrassing now. If Horizon hadn't ran that black friday $399 Fireteam deal I might still be that way. I decided for that price it was worth finding out for myself. All I knew is what Talbot and the other Traxxas guys said about other brands. I fully expected it to be awful and the chassis bend the first bash. That's been 3 years now and I still have the spare chassis I ordered the day I ordered the Fireteam. Since then my collection has went from only Traxxas to only 2 Traxxass remaining. Of the 2 Traxxass I haven't put batteries in my Xmaxx but once since the Vigilante was released and then only to prove to one of my Traxxass buddies that the Vigilante was better by letting him drive them back to back and I kept my TRX6 G63 mainly because nobody else makes anything comparable. I won't buy another Traxxass until they build something unique that nobody else offers for a better value. I care now about having the best rigs, not the name on the box.

Agree with your sentiment 100% Jason 👍 I will not be getting a Jato. It looks great and the VXL version could be exciting, but there is just no way to justify the price unless you can get a roller or you love Traxxas. Thats how I look at it. My Syncro 4 has been fantastic. I think I have had a few more issues than you, but still totally worth the money and Im glad I have the buggy. Can't wait to see Corally's new 4s vehicles!

Team Corally really impresses me, I dont have the Syncro but I do have the Sketer which is a great, tank like basher. It is also my faithful RC in that I have only ever had a problem with the front bumper, it takes a bashing and just lives on. I get your rave, I think they are slowly gaining momentum but its a brand that deserves to be top of the pile, quality is top banana.

I've been saying this all week. The Synchro is the best buggy value on the market. I do not own one, but i own an Asuga and a Kagama, and honestly, Corally really has its finger on the pulse of the community. Theyre extremely tough, fast, and handle awesome, for a lower price than the bigger brands. I own 9 traxxas rigs, and love them, so im no hater. For $250, a 2s Jato would be a great value for a beginner. But for roughly the same price as a Synchro4? No way. On a track, or bashing, the Synchro will eat the Jato's lunch. Period. Traxxas has lost touch with the community. Great video as always, and i agree 100%.

In that price bracket, Syncro4 is untouchable when it comes to handling out the box. The Traxxas will be a lot more when it gets released here in the UK. I doubt many people will buy the 2s in the UK. Unless it's someone who's new too the hobby and not seen what's available! If you want a good basher, buggy, Asuga is epic, too! But a lot more powerful. Fantastic video!

I’ve had two Team Corally Syncros as rental units at my Track and they are total beasts. I now have a spark 6S and a Asuga 6S XL. All are typhon killers. By the way, I’m also a Traxxas fan boy but I won’t be buying the Jato unless the VXL version is something amazing for the money🤷🏽

I thought Traxxas would use the Sledge styling with a shorter chassis and arms for a 1/8 buggy. But they took the slash 4x4 lcg and said what else can we use this to make a new car and reuse the name Jato.

Underrated response, you are bang on. A shorter wheel base Sledge based Chassis would have been a remarkable basher buggy platform. The Sledge has really started to prove itself to many over this last year.

@ when I see the sledge release I was thinking Traxxas will make a 1/8 buggy based of the sledge platform. Naw that would cost more to make a new chassis and arms lol. I have a love hate relationship with Traxxas. Decent cars crap electronics.

I thought issue with the TC buggy is can’t gear ⚙️ it over 45 even with 4s , is this true , 45 50 is all you need but nice to gear ⚙️ high sometimes

@@ricklafrance6050 I’m not sure but here in USA I didn’t think they sold them and one of LHS has TC , just comes down to if they order from there distributor, but you might as well just order directly yourself, if there on sale I have to tell my lhs because he’s not going to know but could offer at that price and tc does do alot of sales

Never really watched a video like this and I greatly appreciate it so thank you. I saw the new Traxxas 4x4 buggy a couple days ago and almost bought it until I realized I have to update that power system spending another 100-125 bucks making it way overpriced in my opinion (And the annoyance of having to upgrade it out of the box to say). But the buggy itself is super cool in my personal opinion. It's the power system that sucks especially for that price point. Should have come with the 3s VXL out of the box this past week, would have been a sale for me for sure. 3s would at the least make it more suitable.

I own a Punisher, Asuga and a Radix 6 from TC and I love them. I'll definitely be purchasing the 4s version of the Punisher when they release them ❤

Good analysis, I've been a buggy guy since the beginning they are the pinnacle of rc engineering been bashing a race kit for years, and I think your right about the corrally, bang for buck, pound for pound, handling, durability, speed accessibility when wanted and just all round use and enjoyment, this might check the most boxes, and without the traxx ass tax 😂Good video.

I have 2 Team Corally Radix 6,which are basically the Spark.I mainly used em for grass track club racing,on 4s.They were great for that ,but as far as being good bashers they are not,the Corally hardware is hopeless ,including the spark.The little 4s may well fair better with such hardware,but the 6s range needs some serious nuts and bolts.✌️

Not going to lie, I like to try a lot of everything. But I surely will not be trying either of the Jatos. I have the Asuga and love it, I’ll also be getting a Kagama someday and will also be getting a spark one day. TC is killing it imo their rigs just drive so good and are reliable in comparison to many others. And I do own arrma and traxxas to.

I like the buggy but the pinion selection is limited and parts are hard to come by a lot of upgrades available either. Most of the vendors are overseas. I've been waiting for things to get better. But it's not really happening. That said team corally is a great company it's to bad they don't have the US part support. Also I enjoyed the video

Only good thing is there cars hold value but they have hindered RC growth and innovation. Made it harder for folks less fortunate to enjoy the hobby . The time as come where too many companies due to technology and competition many options are available. For this I don’t use my hard earned money 💰 for traxxas. They sure do have some nice Rcs though, am my missing out guys 😮

I'm sick of so many people participating in this hobby. The vocal minority prefers to spread hate and unhappiness. I understand people having a favorite brand over another. I understand wanting more of a model at a lower price. I don't know why so many in the hobby are so unhappy and choose to be that way. Don't like a model, cool, like a model, cool. I love Traxxas brand, as do I Arrma. I love "off-brands" like HBX, Rlaarlo, Hobao, HPI, Redcat, etc. I have my gripes and complaints for sure! However, I buy what seems fun, or I can envision something with that model. I don't buy what doesn't seem fun or not my style. That goes for all brands. Many Traxxas models do that for me, as do Arrma and many other brands. Do I think the new Jato is over priced, no, but thankfully I am at a point in my life that a bit more money here or there isn't my concern, it is the smile and feeling I get from the model. Is the new "Jato" the "old" Jato? No, clearly. So what. If you don't like it, you are free to buy it. But to say it is overpriced crap is simply dishonest. Could the "new" Jato be much, much more, duh? You can say that for literally every other model. That is why we have a large 1st and 3rd party hop-up industry. Anyway, Jason, stay true to the HOBBY as you have been. Thanks as always. You make absolutely fantastic videos. They are informative from a technical point of view and from the general hobbyist playing with our toys. I am down to only four of five YT creators I bother to watch, much less trust at this point because their bias is so palpable. Honestly, these few YT RC channels that I can say I get a smile and become excited when I see a notification of a new video is you, of course, @DoRc, @KevinTalbotTV, @TomleyRC, and @DerbyCityRC because of the honesty, enjoyment, and clear passion for the hobby. Clearly, for some, it is so hard to just buy what you personally like and make some content around it while truly having fun... (insert sarcasm). You, Jason, still have that spark. This isn't to bash any other YT RC channels as I do like many others FOR SURE!! It is just that you guys have grown on me as those who that embrace what the hobby is for, enjoyment. All of you, my favorite channels, have issues, complaints, and negative things to say about most brands they buy, review, and otherwise for sure. However, all of you point out it is about what the YT creator personally enjoys, would recommend or suggest we steer clear of with supporting points; not just "Traxxas" bad. Traxxas is one of the largest RC company in the world next to Horizons own like 50 brands. Forget me, I'm ranting on my phone. Enjoy the hobby everyone, buy what you like, just let go of the hate of things you don't like. Life is far too short!

Nice man, I have the Kronos on 4s 15t pinion and the losi 8ight, there very good rc cars. The losi is expensive but it’s a serieus race car and bashing goes great also I like ‘em. I also have some traxxas cars and they ain’t good for me. I drove my Kronos on 6s but it’s just to crazy fast.

There rtr system is special it does look like rebranded max 8 and I have both but paired with there kuran motor you guys know “ weird thing is esc went on fire 🔥 after i was using it crazy because I only had 18t pinion . But I used the motor for a good year or so everyday paired with a max 6 😂😂 .

I would never purchase anything 2 or 3s thats above 10th scale. Only my Vandetta got a pass and that was because i already knew i wanted to swap a 4s ESC and 17mm hexes

Hmm you get what you pay for,i had the radix 4s and the asuga they didnt last very long,the Electronics is okay tho..sorry to say before u know it they just brake..and im just racer not a basher..😢hpi and Arrma is in another liga😅👍👍so i stick to those brands! Do u mind if im asking how long have u got your synchro 4s?..Maybe they have changed the turnbuckles since then😮to another material!

I own the Radix 6 and Asuga and haven't broke anything. I have them both geared up and they are absolutely ridiculous (Radix 76mph/Asuga 63mph)

That’s disappointing because I want to try the asuga xl I’ve used many Arrmas enough to wear the diffs to scrap , although I probably wouldn’t use it daily like the Typhon and make it nicer like Jason did . The electronics are great for rtr I’ve owned them and used them to smithereens 😂

Nothing is more pathetic than seeing the same few rc video makers out there put out a 3-5 minute video talking about absolutely nothing essentially and showing clips of others people's content so they can try to be relevant when they didn't get a first release.. its about the lowest level of unimaginative video content a person could produce really.. That being said, thanks for this video.. I enjoy seeing the basher buggy content and I am also pretty excited to see the potential of the new bandit 4x4 😅 when it comes out..

So the point of this 42 minute video is: Traxxas is out of its mind for releasing the Jato for so much money, especially when you get more for the money from Corally. And then you conclude with I’m going to buy at least one of each. And yet you still wonder why Traxxas refuses to either innovate or reduce its pricing…….😂
