Ah, annual Saxxy awards. Those were good times. Almost all SFMs that took part in that competition are worth checking out.

Ah Turbulence, this is one of my favorite Saxxy winners. Oh, and The reason for the owl sniper: All of the mercs have a bird head themed cosmetic and for most of them, it gives the merc custom voice lines related to being a bird: Scout: has the Batter's Beak, which turns the scout into a Cardinal on red team, or Blue jay on blu team. Soldier: Freedom Feathers, which gives him an Eagle head and grants him a bunch of eagle themed voicelines. Pyro doesn't have a bird head yet, which is weird because he has A LOT of other animal head cosmetics, including the one i use: a spider head. Demo: The Mann-bird of Aberdeen. A cosmetic that turns him into a parrot. Heavy: Chicken Kiev, a cosmetic for heavy that turns him into a European Robin. This one is the most popular birdhead and also has a lot of voicelines custom for it. Engineer: Has Eingineer, which turns him into a Canary. Sniper has Sir Shootsalot, which turns him into an owl. This one also has a lot of voicelines for it. Medic has Medimedes, which turns Medic into Archimedes. This one is the last bird head that has voicelines. You should check out FUNKe's "state of movement FPS" series, 1st one can be skipped, 2nd one is really good and 3rd and 4th just go uphill
