You're right on the nose about the time limit, actually. The Saxxy awards are a film contest for the SFM (source filmmaker) community to make animated shorts, and they generally have a time limit to keep them within comparable length. It hasn't been held in recent years, but as far as I know most of the winners still exist. Some real good talent shines in the Saxxy's, I'd recommend just about all of them, but if I *have* to be specific, Rivalry Rush and Sky Fortress Remastered are top notch.

Fun fact the Fat man Atom bomb remained in us Service into the Mid 50s and somewhere they probably still have that model of bomb in storage in the hundreads. My favorite part was also "the burning you feel. It is shame!"

Something i found cool, and i discovered is even better today (because MHGR has a sweet spot), is that my grandpa was part of the 101st airborne division during Vietnam. He always has a hat with the insignia in his truck. If you want to know more about it, i'd be happy to share.

The short actually ran into some production issues and had to be cut short in a lot of ways, so you're not far off. You can even notice a few of the shots are extremely incomplete and are lacking proper lighting, outfits, effects, etc.

Fat Man was a sphere of Pu-239 within a sphere of U-238 that would be compressed via explosives "lenses" to create fission Little Boy was a gun type design where a hollow uranium "bullet" was fired at another piece of uranium inside the bomb. Gun type designs are much easier to make than the implosion types like Mat Man though Fat Man was the stronger bomb. The hard part about making nukes is mainly enriching the fuel compared to that the rest is easy I'm suppressed some terror cells haven't made any yet. The techs almost 100 years old now...

fun fact: the final product of this film was unfinished, the creators were running out of time and had to submit what they had. missing parts include no liquid coming out of can when scout pours it, lenin heavy has missing mustache/beard in certain frames has he is clinging to scout plan, there is even a frame where he is wearing heavy 's normal attire as he opens the door to let the scouts fall out of the plane. After all that, it still won.

Yeah, what is most interesting about Hunt for Red October is that it was based on real story, but this one contained surface vessel. There is also one that is closer to the book which is stiory of ORP Orzeł(Polish submarine Eagle) which had some really crazy story with getting away from Baltic, running away from Latvian port to avoid detention to Soviets which were at war with Poland and ending up navigating with just map of lighthouses right to Britian
