Honestly Goku bringing Cell to King Kai, as much as it seams for shits and giggles, was not a bad choice. Instant transmission is a move that has to lock on to someones ki and while Goku can chose a spot around the person it still has to be close to someone (and I think he has to be familiar with the persons ki to some extend). His only other choices would have been Namek or Yordrak (the planet he learned it on). Those planets are full of life while Kais only has 3 things on it. Plus he was already in the afterlife world so its not like anything really changes for him.

It only happens when he snaps, and this is that, but to the next level, and prolonged. In this form he is toxic, he is singlemindedly focused on killing what he hates.

Gohan is fine with fighting as long as it's about protecting people from evil. That's what makes him so different from Goku and Vegeta who just love fighting for the sake of it. That's probably why Toriyama made Gohan the Great Saiyaman since Gohan's mentality is more in line with the typical superhero unlike his father who's more of a battle junkie. Even in Super the reason Gohan started training again was because he was worried he got too weak to protect others. That has always been his character. It's not that he completely detests to fight, but he'll only do it as a last resort.
