Just grabbed this kit. Can't wait to put it together. The rdx came highly recommended to me by the hobby store owner and a fee guys running on the track. My buddy who was with me tried talking me into MST rmx 2.5 rtr. It looks like a made a good choice with the ReveD can't wait to get started on the build and get some electronics in it

Honestly both great options but the aftermarket is vast for the rdx. Great choice, have fun!

I'm looking at getting an RC drift car, I've followed your build with the MST, what's the difference between this one and the MST as it's all new to me. Keep up the great vids 👌
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
The reve-d comes from a competitive pedigree and is geared toward drivers that would want to be competitive in drifting competitions. The mst is less geared toward that but can still be competitive. I like both, however the mst will make it easier to start with a ready to run. The rdx will require sourcing electronics and setting all of them up plus building the actual kit.

I sold my Rmx 2.0s to my buddy, I'm looking to get a new chassis. This looks promising

If not this, get an Usukani NGE! Also very YD2 based, shares some parts with yd2 and is about half the cost of a zx/sx3 but will hang doors out the box. It’s a budget level performer with a ton of potential, even for newer drivers!

Between 257-260 depending on how you shim the rear blocks.

i am interested in starting a 1/10 build ,also i am a total beginner. i have seen a bunch of drift chassis coming along on youtube, so i am a little lost. whats the best one to start hobbying with, this reve-d rdx , mst rmx or a yokomo yd2? love the videos btw! also that dbz shell i saw prrrr ❤

Hard to beat this rdx in terms of performance out of the box for the price. Thanks for tuning in!

Awesome video. I have got this kit but not built it yet, complete beginner, is there any recommendations in upgrades with this kit over stock.
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
In my opinion, just drive it in box stock form for now. It needs little to nothing which makes it beginner friendly and super easy to build.

How would you compare this to the RDS builders kit with like-for-like electronics?
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
You get more adjustment out of the box with the rds. Both drive very nice, the rdx is definetly on the competitive edge of setup but if the rdx isn’t suited for your surface from out of the box, you’ll likely have to buy some extra parts. And it’s been on back order for months. Have both, really like both, been easier getting parts for the rds so driving and tuning it more frequently.
@Jeff-bc4hb Жыл бұрын
do you still recommend something like yokomo big bores even though the plastic ones are good?
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
I haven’t felt the need to upgrade my personal rdx with anything except the rhino diferential yet lol! Good electronics and that diferential has this baby scooting at our local track.

Hype! cant wait to see ur build on this one, i cant decide between this one and the rmx 2.5 as my first drift car. im in a country where rc drift doesnt exist so i can only really source 1 of them here and no place to try em out. Which one do you like more out of the box so far? drives better than the rmx with battery slung further backward under the motor vs its more in the mid of the chassis on the rmx 2.5 i imagine right?!
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
They both are pretty awesome. Rdx is cheaper, but far less hopped up. I like the ball dif and active toe on the 2.5 but I like how simple of a build the rdx was. Can’t really go wrong with either but if you don’t have a dedicated track to visit( I’d assume you’d like the rdx better with it’s locked dif.
@MrKillerHobbes Жыл бұрын
@@ScaleScience the rdx doesnt have active toe in the rear? also it looks like only the rrx 2.0 and rmx 2.5 RS seem to have the active toe in rear suspension as those two modes also look like they have completely different rear arms too than the kit you got. Would the revd rdx have less maintainence due to the locked diff?
@MrKillerHobbes Жыл бұрын
looks like the rdx doesnt have active toe in the rear
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
@@MrKillerHobbes no active toe in the rear. Most of the newer rmx 2.5’s will come with active toe setup from factory. Mrx too. The factory spool on the rdx should require no maintanence but a properly built ball dif if used on the proper surface should need little to no maintanence either.
@ScaleScience Жыл бұрын
@@MrKillerHobbes that’s correct, the RDX does not have active toe.
