I've worked for Honda for 31 years. Our designers, Engineers, all the way down to our factory workers have pride in making 1 of the best outboards on the Mkt. Sometimes we experience problems, but we will stand behind our Design, and work with out clients to insure that their expectations are always met or exceeded. Great Video guys!

Where are Honda outboards produced? US? Or Japan?
@bobowhite112 жыл бұрын
@@hankschrader149 The larger HP motors I believe 35Hp and Over are made in Alpharetta George by Honda. The lower rated HP motors are made by Tohatsu. I believe in Japan or the Chi...place??? I boast Honda was the 2nd U.S. Based American Motor Manufacturer to come out with a 4 stroke back in 1964. And the coolest thing is we use the same engine as the "tried and true" Honda Accord. Its a 2.4 liter block. 31 years NEVER REPLACED A MOTOR NOT UNDER WARRANTY. AND 2 DATE.. 2 MOTORS "GOOD WILL" WARRANTED BY HONDA AT 85,000. Fully covered Parts (a Motor) and labor... 100% by Honda including a loaner car while the engine swap took place. Both cases it was a broken timing chain. But swear to the Honda Engineers ....with my 30+ years, and only 2 motors having "Flukes"..... I'm 100 % sold gang! Honda is now looking into more battery powered High output Motors, and we may even see a hybrid? I know I would like to see more automation with our smaller Kicker size motors..Things like spot lock, and remote operation from a lanyards...on a kicker (without needed, autopilot)..... would be the next huge thing in fishing.

My son was a engineer for Honda in Timmonsville SC for a few years. I told him about the Honda products I have owned and also worked with. Simply the Best. I own a 2019 Honda 90 hp and my oldest son owns a 2019 60 hp Honda.....Great engines. Honda needs to put fuel injection on their 25 and 3 hp models. Also I would love to see a Honda 70 hp with 70 cubic inch powerhead.

In 1999 I bought the 26th Suzuki DF40 made on the first day of production, living in Jacksonville FL. With 212.9 hours on the time clock it corroded through the cylinder head at the 10 year mark putting coolant water into #2 cylinder. In Jacksonville you are at least going to be running in brackish water all the time. I attempted to have the head repaired which was a failure. For 12 years I tried to find a used cylinder head as a new one was $1,800. Finally I found someone selling a head on the internet for $250 in 2022 just before I moved to Lake Panasoffkee Fl. Recently I put the engine back together with the used head and noticed somehow I had lost the low pressure fuel pump and the ignition coils in the move. On 5/8/24 I found the deal of a lifetime on a brand new 2024 Suzuki DF50 and bought it home from 101 miles away. My 1999 controls will fit the new motor with an adapter cable and now with the trailer and boat all brought up to spec, tomorrow morning I will install the new engine on my boat with my new Harbor Freight shop crane. Drum roll!!! The old engine will eventually run

Hi Andy,a lot of people did not even know that the Mariner outboards under 70 h.p. we're actually Yammies,and that the larger Mariner engines were a Merc.We Started the Dealership as a full line Mercruiser and Mariner outboard Shop back in around 87/88 and there were tons of the smaller (60h.p.& under)Mariner's that had been sold by a shop who closed up about a year before we opened up and we would get them in for service.Eventually Mercury took away my beloved Mariner's and we sold Merc up until 04 when I sold the dealership.I always thought the Early Mariner outboards were great little engines.

I just went through the Honda 115crack issue before I got my Suzuki. Unfortunately the crack occurred 9 years after that 10 year extension. Also unfortunately when Honda Id'd the issue back in 2003 they STOPPED making replacement parts, so finding a replacement head was not going to happen. Still got 22 years out of that motor with ZERO issues till the head cracked.

I bought a 21' flat bottom river boat with a Merc 9.9 , moved the boat fine. Starting was an issue. First pull at the ramp started everytime , run it awhile, might start might not. Eventually would start. No rhyme or reason. Sometimes it would start first pull. Once it started it ran perfect, didn't die or stutter . Got fed up, got a Yamaha 15 electric start. Awesome. 6 years no problems. Might upgrade to 20hp. Might. Only thing I wish was different, the pull rope is take the cowl off and wrap.

Coupla things: If you're tooled to build a certain size it makes sense to tap someone that knows what they're doing. You build the small stuff for us and we'll build the big stuff for you (Tohatsu/Yamaha). I'm guessing Evinrude/Johnson was always OMC/BRP. Speed in an engine is more a result of design than "who" builds it. I bought into a 2016 E-Tec 135 H.O. shortly before BRP discontinued. So far zero issues and love this motor on my 217F Stratos.

Here in northern Ca, you rarely hear a 2 stroke on the lakes. It is all 4 strokes. I am curious as to the real reason. Is it because of gov't pressure or because people have more money and are more ecosystem thinking here? Either way it is better because the lakes are quieter, cleaner, and don't have 2 stroke fogs to smell. I have a new 20 hp Suzuki after having a couple of old 2 strokes, and the difference is huge and well worth the money. There is nothing like a new motor.
