That film exec has met many people and has seen all the BS that comes with those people. The fact that Steven held back to wait for his turn speaks volumes. It shows patience, individuality, and loyalty which are all qualities that are hard to find in any industry. With all things being equal or close to it in the acting talent pool, Execs need to go off hunches, and that spotlight is just enough for them to understand a spiritual connection to an actor.
