How about you learn the foods of your culture...
@AngelicaRodriguez-mb2ld8 жыл бұрын
+xspringrose When you grow up outside of the culture but still influenced by it and the other cultures that you grow up alongside, things tend to get jumbled up. It's not lack of appreciation --- more like information overload. Also, food isn't the only thing to learn about a culture. Your comment is more than a little simplistic.
@cnsummers40868 жыл бұрын
+Angelica Rodriguez I understand what he's saying, but you've completely missed my point. In his comment, he said his folks are Peruvian, they cook the food, but he has no idea what's in it. That shows that he takes no iniative or interest in learning the foods of his culture from his family who cooks the food. I grew up outside my country too, but learned every single meal my mom and aunt made and know all of our recipes. How can your family cook them and you still not know what the dish consists of?? A lot of children of immigrants here seem not to truly take a true interest in their family's culture. I'm in NYC - I see it all the time. Most simply don't care, and that's a fact. Also - I never said food is the only part of ones's culture. Lol you're telling me. Culture consists of many things, including food, music, traditions and hobbies. Duh, of course. But, food is definitely a huge part of one's culture -- and if a person is not willing to learn even that (when they have close family whom they can learn from directly), then what makes you think they're going to take the time or effort to learn the other aspects??
@angel29018 жыл бұрын
+xspringrose Oh, STFU! He is an American - the american culture is his culture.
@allenprosper94118 жыл бұрын
Me too. I'm Uruguayan American, I know Uruguayan food is mainly Italian/Spanish dishes with some German (like grilling blood sausages at barbecues) but that's all. I can't name half that stuff. Also lost a little of the language :/ But it happens to most immigrant children, because immigrant children, like all children, learn mainly what's around them. Few take an initiative to learn anything more about any subject, a fact since the beginning of mankind. It took me YEARS to convince my parents to make a damned turkey for Thanksgiving. Now my mom does some great traditional Thanksgiving dishes. She can leave the Uruguayan stuff for other parties lol.

holywood is always racist to asian men in lead roles. Always picks the ugliest ones as well, I'm columbian and i even know this

This is something amazing traditional experience. It is very interesting that Conan is viewing the culture there. Conan seems to be more enjoyable there in Korea.
