I have watched all the old Volvo Race weekly videos and the Race Documentaries going back to the first race. That was one of the most interesting/entertaining video I have seen. the crew commenting on their own boat clearly shows their fun doing the race. My son is a professional drone/photographer and I can say those shots were epic which means the flying skills and camera angles are clearly world class. Thanks for a great video from all of you.

Excellent flying skills Antoine! I have the same model drone and the shots you got were epic. Self recovery is so difficult, a 3 handed job. I’ve tried it on dry land and it’s not easy. Can’t imagine doing it off the back of a boat. Well done!

So the next evolution in speed could be from this perspective, where the boat plots the immediate course and trim, to the instantaneously changing topology of the surrounding waves and swell. Be interesting to model how best to ‘join the dots’ to make best pace on a second by second basis

I have to say that one of my biggest complaints about the footage of the previous versions of the Ocean Race was that I got SO tired of hours of footage of the guys in the cockpit with waves breaking over them...over and over, and over!!! NO footage of the boat just sailing through the water, the massive following seas.... the drama of that beautiful, mighty ocean with a boat moving though it. We would get a couple of seconds and then back to waves breaking over the crew. THIS here was such a treat and I am sure I speak for most of your audience when I say we could watch this footage of the boat sailing and surfing and flying.....the exilharation of the boat taking off on the face of the wave for hours and hours and never get tired of studying the interacction of the hull and the foils with the water......this is just fascinating for my engineering brain and food for my soul. As a surfer and sailor, this is just pure unadalterated porn. More!, More, more and then more!!
