I'm absolutely inlove with this animation and overall concept. The animations are super smooth especially the fabric, the atmosphere gives an uncanny yet also gives a very overwhelming nostalgic vibe. I also look and act alot like this guy and I like his character too. I just wish this animation team were still making projects, this is really such a masterpiece for a short animation.

People don't stop talking about what the video's supposed message would be, so here's what I think: This is telling you about the morning routine of a young Korean adult who most likely has depression. Why? Well, first we can analyze that the short film takes place in South Korea, a place that, if you research it, you will realize that it is one of the countries with the highest suicide rate in the world. Now suppose that this has nothing to do with the story in general and i'm crazy, we can analyze other factors in the course of the story that may indicate the mental state of the character, one of them being the very weapon that he leaves by the bed, as if every night before going to sleep he considered using it on something, os maybe on himself? Of course, that could also be wrong since he could use the gun just to turn off the alarms, but in that case wouldn't it be more convenient if he used anything else that could shoot from a distance? Why exactly a gun? An real one? We also cannot ignore the short film theme: Alarm. They can basically re-present two things: the first is the role that an individual plays in society, the alarms are people reminding him that he has a duty, a job to be done to keep things going, something that the protagonist rejects. He doesn't want to play his part in society, he doesn't want to wake up to responsibilities. Instead he prefers to sleep, as a form of escapism. The second thing that alarms can resubmit is ... Alarms, literally an annoying reminder that he needs to wake up at some point, again the main character rejects that. And if we consider the absurd amount of alarms he has at home, we can say that he not only "likes" to sleep, but he is addicted to it. He sleeps not because he feels he will be peeling, but because when he sleeps, nothing happens, nothing can hurt him. I have experienced it myself, sleeping whenever something bad happens or whenever you want to escape the world, when you want nothing to happen, when you want time to stop for you, which is one of the main symptoms of depression. When you have depression even the smallest tasks seem to be quite a challenge. The main character barely manages to do simple things like getting out of bed and just having a coffee without making it seem like an impossible mission, he doesn't just feel physically tired, the tiredness is mental. He is tired of the routine he lives, the work, the people. For all interpretations the character is tired, and the best way to gain more time to rest is with the help of a gun.

to be honest I've watched this short movie some years ago and watched it frequently again and again because the character reminds me so much of myself. And well I didn't notice a thing of what you just casully analysed. But uhm well I have depression (it's way better than it was about a year ago. I was at the point of ok if you show me a way I can kill myself without facing any of my phobias I'll fucking do it because life is hell. But as I said I'm way better now) but still didn't realized that he also has them and that he's a metaphor for it. I just always saw myself in him when I didn't even know that I had depression. I just wished that your comment was here some years ago so maybe I could have realized that this isn't normal but well. I hope that it now helps some other people to realize that theire lifestyle may not be that healthy. Just because I randomly watched a short film before, youtube is recommending me all the short films available like this one from 10 or 11 years ago hmmm hey, youtube, you should probably stop this tsk But I really like this video. I kinda had another perspective in terms of the alarms. It reminds me of all the people that keep you in track like your family and loved ones. Sometimes we shouldn't be too dependent on the alarms (family and loved ones) that keep us not to be late to our schedules or shall I say to our life as it is. Let us be responsible and take every moment as a result of our choices and decisions. Okay, i'm just passing by 😂

The alarm sound triggered my PTSD, because my son nearly died due to an alarm falling on his head. Bless his soul. He is alive now though and he can still talk and eat and move, but he talks in Norwegian.
