@JohnDaviesisahumanbrowneye4 жыл бұрын
@@scottanthonymartin6743 You learn it by doing DIY the opposite way young Richey did; i once tried to drill a 20mm hole into a concrete slab with a cordless black a decker that if i were to complete my above analogy was like trying to cut a piece of paper with nail clippers.

You need a smaller cordless drill haha. Also, in Aus, we have a place called Bunnings that you go to buy all this kind of construction stuff, and they have loads of people who give you advice. If there’s something like that in the UK, just slip in there and ask a few questions when you buy the stuff! There’s nothing magic about DIY and knowing what to do.

Ali McArthur Rarely does clickbait ever live up to expectations. This video is a perfect example of that. This is based on vague adjectives and OVERBLOWN promises (“I MESSED UP”). This sort of clickbait turns it into a psychological game, forcing audiences to guess what the end result is and stringing them along to reveal the correct answer (which in this videos case, was absolutely nothing). Disappointment leads to poor engagement and an inevitable loss of trust in your content. And “disappointed” is a word I’m seeing a lot recently in this channels comment section. You personally might not care but it’s not a good look in the grand scheme of things.
@BlaXXXima4 жыл бұрын
Craig - studs are 16" on centre (at least in Canada). Find the studs, drill into them. Your shelves' bracket might even have holes at 16". Man card basics. Good luck. :P

I think you have confused a metal detector with a stud finder. It beeps when there is a stud behind the wall so you CAN put shelves up. You tested it with a metal pole which the device doesn’t know it’s metal it knows it’s a solid frame.

😂😂😂 I think Craig and my husband (an electrical engineer) should probably get DIY lessons together; because my husband did exactly the same thing when I asked him to put up a shelf on a plasterboard wall 😂😂😂😂 I think probably 6 wall plugs went in the hole that hubby drilled and he couldn’t understand why they kept falling inside the wall 😂😂😂😂
