Maybe if the last 3 democrat presidents hadn't actively put the middle class on life support in this country, they'd have more union support. Democrats have been in power 20 of the last 32 years and their policies have actively harmed small buisnesses and middle class families. The only strong points for the left at this point are social issues, not economic or foreign issues, which I'd argue are significantly more important than social issues and they've wiffed on those for the last 30 years. Hell the crash of 08 was put on Bush when he was just seeing through a Clinton policy of trying to bring people into the middle class by giving the gift of home ownership via sub prime mortgages to people who couldn't really afford them, its a nice idea, not necessarily a good idea, didn't work out and again, Republicans took the blame for a failed democrat policy.

This makes more sense to me now knowing that Harris / Walz actually got affirmative votes from the board to endorse them while the rest of the board decided not to weigh in either way. I feel that they did the right thing because the board obviously was going to endorse Harris / Walz because they saved their pensions and agreed to everything except 1 or 2 requests that probably would impact other unions; but when the actual members prefer the candidate that didn’t support unions and won’t commit to any of their requests you can’t win in that situation. He said the Democrats have been great for working people but the members are supporting Trump by 60%. I see his dilemma because when the Democrats cave to the unions demands and Republicans are working overtime to break them up in Congress and in the courts it’s a unwinnable situation. The Republicans don’t hide their disdain for unions, every Republican state has right to work and Trump said that he’s going to fire all union workers and suspend their contracts if he’s reelected. The members still support him while the board members don’t agree with it.
@papabilby8855Ай бұрын
Both parties left the working class behind. If you’re not spending millions a year keeping lobbyists and lining republican and democrat politicians pockets then nothing is going to happen for you. Pretending like this is an issue on only one side is laughable.

@sunshine3914 we are well beyond what we learned in civics. The government hasn't kept to a budget in a long time. Every year there is a threat of a shut down or continuing resolution BC they spend over budget. Those CRs let the fed print the money that the government is short. They don't need our tax money since they just print more money when they are short every year.

Oooooo I caught that wanting to end right to work. The right to work bill is a blessing for people that have a union forced on them that did not want to be part of it.
@NoalFarstriderАй бұрын
I was forced into a union, my job then garnished wages for my union. They then kept my wages from my union. My union seeing how I didn't pay them unvested me from my union. My job then illegally fired me after I got injured and my union didn't protect me because in their minds I was no longer a member when in reality I was paying them the whole time. So my job stole from me my union didn't protect me and I had to pay them anyway for the right and privilege to work on the job site. What a joke.

Then why isn’t he voting? The teamsters either endorse a democrat or they endorse no one. Don’t complain if you don’t vote. I bet this guy has never voted republican. What he’s saying is “I only want a democrat, and I want them to do what I want. If they don’t do what I want, I’m not voting” even though there is a republican waving a sign in this dudes face that say “I’ll give you what you want!”. This guys then says “nah we’re not gonna vote”
