@@Bird.Squawk Yes, I have a very fussy Quaker girl. And 6 cockatiels. The 3 males are full white, lutino fallow pied, and cinnamon normal. Girls are lutino, fallow, Pearl, pied; a cinnamon pearl and one that I need to have DNA sexed. It’s a clear lutino. Breeder I got “her” from swears she’s a she. But she behaves like a boy and beak battles the males in the flight cage. But absolutely no markings, at all. And I love them all. The youngest one just turned 22 months and I’m thinking of putting up nest boxes, that’s how I found your channel!

I also had a bird who doesnt really sit on her eggs(only dad does the sitting every morning) every single time after she lays a clutch next 2 days she lays another clutch and it goes on and on until it reaches 8-9 eggs, i guess thats whats called double clutch? Anyway I let the africanlovebirds sit on it til it hatches then I handfeed them. Thanks for this great video!

Question: What color parents does one need to get a whitefaced pied or a white lutino?
@clarissacastor72033 жыл бұрын
The males carry the lutino gene, so you would need either a wf lutino or a wf split lutino (or a male split to both wf and lutino bred to a wf female). Don’t breed a visual to a visual (so no lutino to lutino) because that can cause too many problems and deaths in the chicks.
@clarissacastor72033 жыл бұрын
Oh and for pied you need either both pied parents or a split to a visual (which is better recommended, it is my understanding that visual pied to visual pied doesn’t cause as many issues but can). Either parent can be the visual or split.

@@clarissacastor7203 thank you for your answer. I was just curious. I have a white female (I guess shes a white lutino with red eyes) and (I think ) I was told a pied male. So far, they have had 1 cinnamon with some thrush, and a beautiful light grey/yellow pearl. The third had fallen behind, so he does not have all his feathers yet, but so far he has a pattern I haven't seen before. Its similar to pearl so far, but more like polka dots ALL OVER HIS WINGS on a mostly dark gray base... I know for sure the parents are not related (both from same breeder, and I made sure to clarify, Incase they became mates in the future. ) But I don't know the colors of their parents, parents (grandparents of the babies). I have considered reaching out to her and asking her about their history. I'm new to this part of cockatiel ownership/passion.

I recently lost 2 baby birds approximately 3 days old. So heart broken. Their crops never went down no matter how long I waited between feedings. In the future should I not feed if the crop looks full?
@Bird.Squawk3 жыл бұрын
sorry to hear this. Could have been the birds.... however all three were lost. It's been my experience that this is a temperature issue. food and brooder
