A power supply of a specific wattage is usually in similar size as long as they use the same technology (linear, silicone switching, or GAN switching). The power brick would be the same size no matter it use a propiretary plug or a USB-C one. And I would personally doubt 240W PD becoming popular any time soon, because down volting 48V to 12V at 240W can take a significant amount of circult space and might not even be possible to incorporate into a laptop.

It's just a socket for plugs, it looks the same as the electric sockets in your home. It has no circuitry unlike the DC side of the charger.
