I've actually had a conversation with someone convinced of the Illuminati-conspiracy theories from a genuinely curious perspective, as I wanted to understand how someone could believe in something that is so absurdly far from the sceptical views that shape my reality. When he got off the train, he thanked me for taking the time to respectfully discuss the topic with him, and sharing my critical thoughts and perspective with him. My intention was to understand his perspective, but I ended up making him realize he never questioned some of the statements that formed the foundation of his believes. Might I suggest a similar approach for a Supreme Lord Commander guest-visit? (without judgment, nobody 'winning' the debate, just trying to understand each other, see where the other person's coming from) I think that could provide some truly valuable/interesting content

Charlie, historical swords aren't heavy. That's a common misconception. Even some of the longest historical swords were only 5 lbs or so. Most swords would even be balanced toward the hilt to make them feel more agile in the hand. If a sword were to be to heavy at the tip of the blade it's user would sluggishly lob it around, instead of being able to react to an opponent's strike.

This little fun fact is for Jackson. A light saber was not originally weightless. It was as heavy as any other sword if not slightly heavier with some force pushing from the emitted beam. This is why the fighting style is so different in the older movies from the newer movies where people are more acrobatic. Of course in this universe you could consider a Jedi's level of bond with the force, which could be used to make a light saber weightless.

The idea of "my sword is better than yours" is missing the fact that weapons were shaped by their environment. Great swords were fucking useless against plated armor and were turned into bats through the half-assing technique during desperate times. Almost all weapons had a counter which forced new weapons to be made. In fact, great swords weren't used much if at all. Its a giant ass sword. Its a dick-measuring tool if anything. You'd want a shorter blade or a longer weapon like a halberd or a hammer. Even katanas weren't used in actual combat. In war, nobody wanted to die, and everyone wanted to be as far from combat as possible. You'd want to use bows, spears, halberds, hammers, hooks, etc. Everyone's a pussy in war, and I don't blame them. If you think the greatsword is cooler, by all means. If you think its better than the katana because "its harder and stronger" than that's a low, low bar. By that metric, a steel rebar would be better than a great sword.
