George is British blue collar motorcycling tech, only problem is the market isn't huge for a lot of stuff with triumphs but they cater to the fans. Hopefully with the popularity of the new bobber worldwide we'll see some more great parts.

Having had this fitted recently (April 2019) and finished running it in (300 miles back from Newcastle and a couple of other runs taking it to 500 miles) and then doing the oil and filter change, I can vouch for George's claims. The engine finally does what it should have done out of the factory. She has been released! :) George was excellent and I now have an even torquier engine and an unrecognisably better top end. Thanks to George for his great work in figuring this out and in delivering it to the market. A highly recommended upgrade for any Street Twin owner.

The video is a guide only and I would suggest using it along side the workshop manual from Triumph or Haynes. parts numbers alternator cover gasket - T1268765 CAM screws T40 head - T3053005 Cam tensioner O rings - T3600199 + T3601276 Tightening torques Cam sprocket screws 22 NM camshaft bearing carriers 10Nm Head top cover 14Nm Alternator cover bolts 10Nm Cam tensioner 16NM You can safely run the bike with the stock ECU . I would check you have the latest software update from Triumph installed as the latest dealer update tune is a lot better than the factory gates tune. We have done testing with the triumph updated map and the Vance and Hines Triumph map and very little difference. For max power you can use a Power commander but we found that is was not really worth the money as the throttle body / air box was at almost max flow already. The only advantage was the timing could be advanced and rev limit raised ( both risky if you are not sure what you are doing) we also found fuel economy not as good with power commander probably due to the O2 sensors being bypassed. You can get a wide band O2 sensor add on kit for the PC5 but again this is expensive. As with all power commander and similar systems it is only as good as the tuner who has set it up on the bike and can be dangerous in the wrong hands.

TEC Bike Parts - If the Street Cup is already vibrating in 5th gear at 75-85mph, does the increase in HP increase the vibrations? I just did 223 miles averaging 85mph (136 kph) so my question is, would the camshaft (de restrict) which increases HP reduce the vibration at higher speeds? Thanks

What it does prove is that Triumph for some reason “known only to them” crippled the potential performance of this engine which as an owner has greatly p*s*ed me off. I have a 2016 STwin with decat, straight through V&H, DNA filter, snorkel removed, Dart classic screen and stage 1 cam. It flies to the ton (on a private road). For me as a 100kg guy it really means you must do the suspension. In standard trim the chassis really can't make best use of the power. I have dropped in 8.5n/mm linear springs in the front with standard fork oil and there is an improvement. Next month the Hagon 2820 (10mm longer Street Cup spec) will arrive, and that should sort things out. My conclusions? Do it. The bike is transformed. It is now a very capable roadster and an excellent all rounder and surely the prettiest.

Hello from the Philippines. I love the video and honestly I had my jaw on the floor for most of the lecture and dyno graphs. It's astounding how much power you were able to unlock with such simple mods. I hope you develop more power parts for the Thruxton 1200 too. Cheers.

My dealer installed the cam for me some 7 months ago. After seeing the video, I thought this might be the solution to unleash the potential of my street scrambler engine. Before the cam was installed I fitted a K&N filter and removed the snorkel. Engine felt like it breaths better, throttle response improved and the sound was notably nicer. Then the cam. In the video there's a few claims by TEC: Huge or significant improved power and torque and throttle response and louder engine. Louder engine: True, nice sound that is. Throttle response: True, however not that brillantly improved. More power: well, I think so. However, by far not that much like in de video. Same for torque values I guess. OK, I don't have a dyno run to prove it, and I didn't remove the cat. Still, the 70bhp is something from a Hans Christian Anderson story if you ask me. It's just not what I get in real life and I don't need a dyno to prove that (I will put in on a dyno soon though). OK, before the cam was installed, power dropped away after 4000rpm and on the motorway speeds of 120+km/h were hard to reach. By now, it just keeps on getting stronger until you hit the rev limiter. That by the way kicks in pretty strong at about 7000/7100rpm, so keep an eye on the display for the rpm. If you want to be sort of fast on the bike, keep the revs over 3500-4k and the bike is fast-ish. Below that, well, it's a different story. That also makes me wonder if bottom end torque is lower than before the camshaft swap, but I'm not sure. To make the bike run a bit less lean (standard bike runs almost dangerously lean) I installed the TEC booster plug. I think that helped the bike not to stall anymore like some folks report when riding at low revs, for instant on a tight roundaboud. A friend of mine also put in the V&H full system exhaust without the cat and also doesn't get the values shown in the video. He got stuck at 55bmp/74nm no matter what he tried. He tried 98 and competition 103 octane fuel without ethanol additives (so just pure petrol), and still doesn''t get the values shown on the dyno. He put it on the dyno and actually got lower bottom end torgue…. In short: Yes, I'm happy with the changed engine behaviour. Bike runs smoother and seems less willing to stall. But, the power increase if far from what I see in the video. And if TEC says that charts and graphs are not that important, well don't show them yourself in the video then. If TEC claims the values are reached only by burning 98, well the's also not the solution if you ask me. That's been tried by us and no increase whatsoever. However, there are people that seem to get more power and torque, other people don't. Why you might ask? We haven't found out why yet and we hanven't received a solid answer from TEC either. What about the brakes you might think: Well the bike won't be faster and you don't need to put on stronger brakes in my opinion after the cam swap unless you're not happy with the brakes before the cam swap. The bike is not a race bike and 170km/h-ish (107mph) is the max, cam swap or not. It just takes a lot less time to get to that sort of speeds. I wouldn't want the bike to be faster though since without a screen it's just not comfortable at such speeds on this bike. You need full fairing on this bike to reach 120mph and ruin all of the beautifull scrambler looks. Besides that, if you want a fast bike go spend your money on something else. So if you want the bike to run a bit better and accelerate a bit faster, spend the money and put in the cam. If you want a significantly stronger bike (more power, more torque like in the video), get yerself another bike or a 1200 twin. When I put it on a dyno, I'll keep youse posted.

All of them were surprised how well the scrambler did, even on the motorway. First they were joking about the 'mopet' , after three days the scrambler received respect by all of them. Without the cam that wouldn't have been the case. Next: cutting out the cat and try to flash the ecu.

@@strandwal6878 TY for the feedback. When you're on the highway (for a 5 speed)) do you still desire a 6th gear? or did the cam make 5th gear "longer" more like an overdrive highway smooth gear?
@strandwal68784 жыл бұрын
Sal Sonic it’s ok. See the bike isn’t ment to do a lot of motorway time. Just not suited well enough for it. 5th gear is fine. I really do hope y'all follow-up on offering the camshaft for sale, and how-to video(s) for the installation. One of the major drawbacks pointed out by reviewers is that the T100/Street Twin lack enough power for pillion riding/highway touring compared to the T120. However, the T120 has gotten some negative attention for its dodgy throttle input compared to the lighter and arguably more reliable Street Twin/T100 900cc motor. It's bad enough that Triumph discourages the installation of installing dual discs on the new T100 as opposed to just getting a T120 but this takes things to another level.

Totally off topic. Would you please tell me if you think a Predator Pro Shorty Exhaust which I understand is a high speed exhaust and allows the engine to run cooler, perhaps with an X Pipe to replace the Cat would eliminate or significantly reduce bluing on the header on a T100 / T120? Does the T100 have a restricter like your describing on the Street Twin? I'm looking at the T100 or T120 as a first bike. I'm 51, 6"3', average weight? I'm leaning toward getting the T100 at this point which has been recommended by an advanced rider. What disadvantages would a beginner have with a T120 as opposed to the T100? What accessories would you recommend on the T100? I'm mainly looking at the ones that protect the bike like the sump plate guard, fork protector, dresser bar, and an alarmed brake lock. Are their other accessories you would highly recommend for a beginner? Are their specific products you offer that you would recommend for a beginner on the T100? Where I live a written test and then a basic rider course is required. I want to learn to be the best rider I can. How would you recommend someone advance their riding skills beyond just the basics taught in the basic rider course? I live in the U.S.
