As someone who just came across your channel randomly I came here from the video of you talking about why people find it so difficult to get into gamedev. I'm not sure what to suggest based on that information but there you go

If it's not too personal I'd like to know how you do XR development professionally? Do you work for a company as an employee or do you find freelance gigs? Have any of your personal games turned a profit yet?

I work for a company! I've made some chump change. Some things are free.

@@SpaceDodo Did you build a portfolio to get hired or were you able to leverage your previous tech job experience? I'm a beginner in Unreal Engine trying to make my first commercial game, just wondering what kind of experience is enough for someone to hire me for game dev & VR stuff.

Every employer is different. I work for a smaller company, like 15ish people. I'd guess my tech experience was a big badge to prove job experience and the ability to learn the nitty gritty of tech, but I'd wager having a few small but functional exported vr projects I made (not just a clone of a tutorial) really made them feel like I could bill for the work. Edit: So seeing a comptia tech cert as a developer is comforting to an employer, but having actually proof you can do the job they need done is the real sauce.
