I have over 5000 hours in NMS and 100% completion. While this may work, it is a royal PITA just to try to overcome whatever was in HG's head when they patched out the duplication of tech. As a ship hunter, that was an extremely important thing for me. Trying to buy and go through thousands of modules to make a ship decent is just way over the top in my opinion, and may well be the thing that makes me kick NMS to the curb.

I have done exactly what you said, now here is the thing. When i do the "auto save" reload, it basically reload the game infront of the annomaly and not on the planet. No, i didn't used the pulse neither the afterburn i just went forward. I have tried 3x and all the time the game autosave reloaded me infront of the annomaly. Therefore, i believe that the game does an autosave right before we enter into the anomaly. Now the restore point would throw me back to the planet, but then i don't have nothing into my exocraft since everything is on me

It's taking you too long to get to the anamoly. I've had the problem for months and finally got it to work. You can boost I believe in fact I think you need to to make it up quick enough. I built a base way up in the air so it was closer to the anomoly.

I noticed within a couple hours of the update that tech items would no longer go into the portable refiner so I googled the patch notes and it is mentioned toward the bottom among all the other bug fixes and such. It states that the reason it was patched is that tech items cannot be refined into anything else and should have never been allowed in the refiners anyhow. What I find strange is how many years did they wait to do this and why just the tech. It takes a long time to obtain that near max upgrade as it is and I refuse to add more time trying to get another similar. I am thankful they did not completely patch the glitch since for someone like me that has over a thousand hours in the game I do not care to run around gathering resources anymore and like to concentrate more on exploring and base building.

I already have a few maxed ships per profile and why go look for more when its going to be a slugfest upgrading them? Oh well going to have to just build more or find another game.

As a side note I would like to point out that when entering the Anomaly with your item ready for teleport to another player you do not have to be in a hurry since it can still be accomplished after you land and just sit there ready to transfer when someone comes within teleporter range so long as it does not take too long and then quickly reload quicksave.

Still works as of Worlds Part 1 update ! For people still struggling, here is a step-by-step guide. First, the preparation steps. Activate online play, and do the following: 1) Choose a spot on a planet of your choice and build an exocraft geobay (any will do). Make sure that the spot you chose is marked: you can setup a base or place a beacon. 2) Fly off to space, and as soon as you can, spawn the anomaly. The closer the anomaly is to your spot, the better the glitch can work. 3) Go back to your spot, spawn your exocraft and then put all the items you want to duplicate in your exocraft. 4) Prepare a random item with no value and keep it in your exosuit. It can be just 1 carbon for exemple. Make sure that this item can be given to other players online (technologies won't work). It will be crucial for one of the next steps. 5) Setup a restore point, by going in and out of your ship or using a save beacon you placed. It's important that you stay close to your exocraft while doing that. Now, for the dupe glitch, the next steps must done in succession as quickly as possible. As soon as the restore point has been setup: 6) Send the items you want to duplicate from your exocraft to your exosuit. 7) Fly off to the anomaly and enter it. You can use your boost to get there, but don't pulse as it will trigger a save point and messup everything. In any case, if the anomaly is close enough to your planet, pulsing won't be possible. 8) When your ship is entering the anomaly, open your inventory and select the item that you prepared in step 4, using quick transfer mode. After a few seconds, you will have the possibility to transfer your item to other players: choose a random player and transfer the item. 9) Quickly open the pause menu, and reload the auto save point. Yes, the auto save point, not the restore point. If you try to reload the restore point, you will just be back to your spot with no dupes. However, if you've done steps 6-9 quickly enough and reload the auto save point, you will be back to your spot but your items will have successfully been duplicated. After that, you can just setup a new restore point, and repeat steps 6-9 to duplicate your items again. Just prepare another item for step 8.

This wasn't done to combat duping. In the patch notes it said they removed non-refineable items from appearing in the selection menu as a "quality of life" change. Presumably this was done so you don't have to sort through pages of items to find the ferrite dust you wanted to refine. Removing the ability to dupe technology was an unintended (but likely permanent) side effect. My guess is that in the future all non-refineable items will be excluded (exosuit/multitool/starship/freighter expansion slots, crafted items like AI valves or stasis devices, etc.)

You can also drag and drop them into the Mk2 backpack still... and do the old Anomaly dupe that way... but the exocraft dupe obviously does way more at once with single items like that. :)

I have over a thousand hours in the game so I have done my fair share of grinding. At this point if I cannot glitch I will loose interest in the game and go to something else because a gamer can only take just so much grinding before some other shiny comes along and draws their attention away.

I did the Grind on my First Playthrough got the 300ish hours did everything the game had to offer all Missions that were not Procedurally Generated Ground out the dumb Buried Technology modules to unlock things at anomaly.... Got the Best 4 Charged Sentinel Multitool, 12 S Class Ships all 4 touching supercharged slots layout, S Class Square SC Freighter... EVERYTHING!!! and made a second profile because 1st Profile ran out of the 16k base parts limit.... Anyway second profile set everything to free and it was just so much more fun to start building bases out the gate the Grind for the Buried Tech Modules is Junk... so if they patch it out it would 100% kill the game for me.... I think the Tech modules was the same for ship hunters... Why grind when the Grind is not very fun warp to different system buy the tech modules your looking for reload game buy more get like 30 or more repeating this pattern and then open the X class modules and find 90% are crap get the few you need for one ship... and this is only one ship... It almost nullifies the Pirate/Outlaws update... X class Modules are 100% Dead to me... RIP outlaws tech update you will be missed! I am still enjoying the game, but fully upgrading ships is now dead to me. if it wasn't for glitch building this game would have been shelved a long time ago.

I hope they do not fix the building glitches its what makes this game Unique, I played Sub Nautica and many other survival games that allow building, Palworld, Ark, and a few others...but those games have since been shelved and I consistently build in NMS because others can see your creation, and you can make ANYTHING because of the glitches in the game... Btw, I don't know if it's common knowledge, but the quicksilver "dup glitch" also still works. I mean the one where you spend your quicksilver, transfer an item and load your autosave and get back your quicksilver but still have the bought items. You just have to be fast enough^^

Doesn't work anytime i go to the anomaly. I get stuck in the light for 5-7 minutes, and when i finally do get in, i either can't transfer anything or when i can, and reload, i lose my item and reload in space

Tried this 3 times, paying close attention to each step, never pulsed. Didn't work. Maybe I was taking too long and an autosave occurred, but each time I loaded the autosave going through the Anomaly, it spawned me back in my ship just above the launch dock.

There is a stealth quick save before you enter the Space Anomaly preventing this dupe trick from working. When you load the save it brings you back outside the Space Anomaly with no dupe and possible loss of items attempting to dupe. RIP Dupe

Can confirm this still works, it's just crucial to beat the save times. I had it working, then it stopped due to it saving before entering the anomaly. Just make a hard save (I used a save beacon I placed down) before you make your reload point and it should work after that. Make sure the anomaly is as close to the planet as it can be.

This glitch STILL WORKS IF YOU ARE QUICK ENOUGH. The issue is that you have to wait for someone to come close enough to your ship for you to transfer an item to them! It’s okay to sit on the space anomaly for a second, it will not auto save if you are quick enough. I just successfully did it.

Funny thing is though... the way manual saves work... you can just give a friend a stack and reload your manual save... have him give the stack back, save, repeat... due to the manual/auto save way saves work... they cant get rid of duping...

Bro I need help. For some reason it won't work for me. I did all the steps... Is there some setting I'm missing? As soon as I gift an item on the anomaly I reload my autosave. Then when I get back 9/10 times I'm back in my ship either in space or near the restore point with all the items in my inventory, the item I gifted gone, and no items in my Pilgrim. On PlayStation you can press the guide key to leave to the main menu of PlayStation. Then go back into the game. It works most of the time. Could work on other platforms as well. Give it a try.

we can put tech in our inventory refiner via dropping. And i haven't tested it, but it should work the old glitch when we put in the big refinery our stuff to dupe and went to anomaly (like you have shown) to dupe. Thank you for the information!😀

For Tech Items that are craftable nothing stopping us from duplicating the resources to build those tech items. We can still move most items into storage. Thanks for the dup find. I ALWAYS pulse up to the station. Works fine everytime. Flying up slowly will take to long sometimes and you will get an auto save within the time you need to fly up. ✌️ Pulse won’t trigger and automatic save. Tipp from the greatest glitcher in NMS… 😜

Essentially it’s the exocraft duplication glitch with workaround mechanics to bypass autosave triggers..so first don’t pulse ever not even for a second, you have to do the setup as shown by placing down the anomaly first then landing as the anomaly placement is a hidden trigger and your not notified of it, so when you land back on a planet you jump out to make the auto save happen on your own terms then you need to be quick you have roughly 2:30 seconds to complete the glitch before the next automatic timer catches you out

Always end up outside Anomaly after autosave restore. Every time. Even after quick trips to Anomaly from a sub orbital base. ***OKAY - SCRATCH THAT!!!*** July 24 - Post 5.0 update and IT WORKS. People commenting on Cheating and such need to understand there's no competitive aspect to this game. It's play as you want. If you like grinding, do it. got it to work 1 time. the rest i get "players out of range" to teleport items. works but way to many steps and is not 100% gonna work everytime. Thanks anyway for the video!

Can anybody confirm this on PS5? Nov. 9, 2024. I can't seem to make it work. Nor another method using the Anomaly teleporter. UPDATE: I finally was able to do this glitch by making a sky base that brought me closer to the Anomaly. Working on PS5. Just a major pain to time it right.

Ok, so I figured it out. You have to transfer everything to your exocraft as prescribed, and then create your restore point with your starship. Immediately get IN your exocraft to transfer back to your inventory and being inside will beat the restore point during the transfer if you're fast enough. Just made 132k Nanites in 10 minutes. Better than BOTH old versions of duping. Lol, they tried to patch it but ended up giving us the easiest/fastest method ever hahahaha.

Can confirm, after some deciphering and playing around, this does work, you have to make sure you beat any save symbol as well as making sure you don’t open the item transfer when on the anomaly too early or it bugs the transfer to people.
