also the k24z3 rockers spray oil directly on the cam lobe and u need the rocker shafts as well to match not just the arms lot of people mess this up and u get less oil fed to the intake rollers and lobe the a3 had oiling problems so there prone to eating the cam newer style corrects this problem

VTEC is just a way of switching to a more aggressive can profile. It essentially gives you 2 engines. a quiet one and past a certain rev range a nuts one.

The main purpose of VTEC killers when TODA designed them was to reduce weight in the rocker assembly to support higher revs (10K RPM). Thats why someone with a K20A2 or performance VTEC head would do VTEC killer setup.

The 2200rpm kick you are speaking of is the 12 to 16 valves activating...the vtec kicks in at 5k rpm on the k24

I have an a4 man 104 mph almost 240 whp no prb oil pump oem low.comp pistons just rsx cams and vtc and full bolt ons if you check some of my old videos you will see ive been more than 6 years v killer 0 problems just dont rev to much even if you dont flat the dyno curve

Yes you can grind the low lobe off and narrow the high lobe, a company like delta camshafts offers this service. This was more the way of making it work with junkyard parts.

Quick question on the K24z3, would a VTEC exhaust roller/camshaft swap increase the horsepower or would it actually hurt the engine and mess with the variable timing? As my research has lead me to see that almost no one really does any k24z3 cylinder modifications and rather throw it out and swap it for a k24a2 cylinder head or similar….. I would like to keep my k24z3 cylinder head and was thinking of changing the exhaust rocker or camshaft and covert them to VTECH, unless it’s impossible or pointless….

i just get cams non used lobes ground off the cams and use the k20a3 rocker arms also get them to grind base circle on the vtec lobe to get bit more lift and duration thay work good and cost like 300 to do

Yes, it hits the primary lobes which your a3 doesn’t have stock

Looks and sounds more complicated than it really is once you know what you're doing . It's like a puzzle , if you can put a model car together you can build an engine granted you have the proper toolage and manuals . Electrical problems is what kills me 😂 wiring and ohms voltage and blah blah 😔 I leave that to those savy ones I have zero patience for such things 😂

Man...., this uahhhhh, is actually good info, but uahhhh, you think I could uahhhh, just remove/machine away/grind away(whatever youd like the gender of the process to be) the unused lobes? Uahhhh... lol 😅 so that way we dont compromise the rocker arm integrity and also thats alot less rotational/pointless force against the rollers too Que no? I mean fuck it yea I guess your technically ruining a set of say $100-150 stock type s cams but obviously the point is making a peasant k series and make a competitive adversary using on hand or readily available parts, you know clean out the cobwebs on the debit card and invest at minimum into away higher volume oil pump and might as well go over kill on the valve springs and get some high end ones so we can pray to minimize the inevitable premature wear to the cam lobes but if done thoughtfully I think it could be a very very reliable and extremely cheap alternative, basically the intuitive peasant secrect mod budget engine? 240+ has been seen on stock k24a4/a8/a2/etc. blocks running any of these single lobe style rocker per required mods, hence my complete single lobe idea, I feel like that will significantly prolong the life of the engine beyond what the average person is willing to do because if your building one of these engine yourself you can handle grinding/milling whatever you do to do remove the useless lobes. Cams dont have a critically precise balancing process so I feel like its just even more of a + to remove said material from the unused lobe instead of the rocker arm, im not a genius but I've personally built a 280+ all motor b20v and that's just my public show off build, I could be wrong there's always more than one way to skin a cat so someone chime in with me I see no reason why it wouldn't be beneficial? Some one chime in, dont waste your time with comments about me wasting my time, I build engine for fun im looking to do something significantly abroad

actually k24a1 PPA heads flows much better than the TSX Rbb heads, it just doesn't have the real performance vtec hence why you'd do a vtec killer setup on the k24a1. I wouldn't do that do on a street car but its a cheap way to get some power on a race engine
