Wow. Who would’ve guessed that a salesman of $14/gallon fuel would talk bad about a comparable, cheaper alternative.

I've run 100/130 AVgas for over 30 years in my high compression BBC in my Chevelle and boat, I've also dynoed engines on AVgas without any issues. It's a spec consistent non Ethanol leaded fuel at a very fair price. When VP racing fuels started out, their best selling gas was C-12, the base fuel used to produce C-12 was AVgas, put that in your pipe and smoke it, since you're blowing a lot of smoke!

you just want to sell your fuel... yes its great fuel... if your looking for something without ethanol and high octane to work with 91 pump gas as a blend then 100LL avgas is the way to go, unless your rich and can afford your fuel
@coldsmoker93872 жыл бұрын
I agree,avgas is intended for high compression and turbocharged aircraft,it's 1/10th the price of racegas I run 100ll in my turbocharged sled and couldn't be happier. race fuel is a scam
@StBeter-tc2te2 жыл бұрын
depends where your from, as of now there’s areas where av gas is cheaper or the same price as a 87-93 gas. I’m a pilot and honestly i don’t run av gas because i do emissions lol. only reason really

I was just gonna say this. They just wanna sell their expensive fuel. Guys been using avgas since the 60s and still do. It’s the loop hole that they don’t want you to know.

Tell ya what. Since your so confident send me 20 gallons of your fuel and I'll do a comparison video and put it on here.

Avgas isn’t just designed to run at 10,000ft. Airplanes need to make lots of power for takeoff and climb. It needs to produce power from sea level to over 25,000ft. Also the RPM of the motor isn’t a factor. Aircraft engines are high performance and high compression air cooled engines. They are susceptible to extreme high and low temperatures and changes in pressure. So they need a high octane highly refined pure fuel. Lead is the best way in this case to increase the octane. Avgas does not have as much lead as an old school leaded fuel. So if you put it in a carbureted application the motor will love it.

My engine has no idea what altitude it’s at because the turbo brings manifold pressure to above 30” (below sea level) Waste gate on the turbo doesn’t close all the way until it’s too thin to breathe.

I have a 1963 Corvair. It was built for premium leaded gas. Generally use non-ethanol premium. Occasionally treat her to a tank of avgas. She seems to like the 100 octane lead.

Most of the time I fly my plane well below 10,000 feet. Flight instruction generally also is well below that, as well.

It is made to not cause vapor lock at altitude. What it does on the ground is it doesn't ignite like fuel station gas. Is there "winter grade Avgas ?

My understanding is aviation fuel is not designed for any altitude, it’s designed to limit detonation and not go bad and that is it.. There is no such thing as fuel intended for specific RPM’s. Fuel doesn’t care about RPM it cares about compatible timing and compression. Airplanes usually operate at 2200 to 2700 RPM. 2400 is very typical. If I am wrong I would like to know how? Cheers!

I fuel airplanes for a living, and I have access to LOTS of avgas 100LL and mogas 91 (zero ethanol). I burn both in my car and it loves it. Although I have bypassed O2 sensors and a cat (soon to delete) there actually is no other issue with burning 100LL in your car except spark plug fouling. I check mine monthly and lightly sand blast fouling off and good as new

Gas doesn’t care what altitude you’re at. And no engine gas if formulated for engine speed

The only issue with this statement is the fuel is designed to run at 10k altitude. Guess he forgot about taking off on a runway at sea level. That is the one time you run your airplane at full power. Got to come up with something better than that. How about facts like and independent dyno comparison with engine properly jetted.

BS. I ran avgas in my EVO VIIi 500bjp and also my M3 and pretty much all my high power turbo cars. Evo did just over 40k miles before we pulled the engine to upgrade the rods and pistons. There was zero buildup and engine was spotless. Avgas tends to run a bit rich tho, cause its a high density fuel. The only downside is the small amounts of lead, although it a 100LL ( low lead) lead is still present as its used as a lubricant. It’s cheaper the race fuel and very clean 100 octane fuel. Anyone that speaks against avgas, its a race fuel company or internet keyboard warrior that has never used it

Biggest issue with 100 LL avgas is it's high lead content. The lead may not be friendly in your application.

You don’t wanna loose sales bum . I’ve ran aviation fuel in my pro stock car and motocross bikes and sleds for 20 years . I received the performance for almost half the cost of fuel that comes in cans . The Sunoco 110 is a good fuel too . 74 buck for 5 gallons . Vp is pricing them selves out of the market. I’m gonna try a can of your brand a see what’s up
