So 30 years ago Hizzy was doing 120+ lap times on a bike built in a shed near Birmingham, just mind boggling if you think how technology as moved on, brakes, tyres, suspension etc, how did he do that??, pure road racing genius.

Tremendous video content. I live here on the Isle of Man and remember Hizzy's 1992 senior victory like it was yesterday. One of the greatest TT race days ever and right up there with the duels in the 60s between Agostini and Hailwood. Thanks to Wiz Norton for continuing the historical link with this iconic race bike.

Great video! I think you did more homework than you let on! Important piece of history here. Thank you for sharing. And thanks to the WizNorton team for keeping this beautiful bike alive in the spirit of one of the TT’s greatest racers.

The rotary engine bikes have the most benefits in the bike world, the simplicity and the low weight makes it absolutely superb.

Absolutely great vid. For me this is the best sounding bike when its screaming through the grandstand speed trap. Even better than an MV.

Wow, fascinating! That's real commitment. I'm curious about the torque of the rotary motor - I'm not an engineer but it seems to be that all the power would come at high revs

Please excuse my ignorance, Norton had a rotary engine? ( I co-owned a Norton 850 in ‘75-76
@RikkyTang2 жыл бұрын
Your Norton would have had a conventional parallel twin 4-stroke engine. The rotaries were released relatively late in Nortons history (early-to-mid 80's)
@howardosborne86472 жыл бұрын
There is a book titled 'Norton Rotaries' that goes through all of the Norton history with the rotary engines. They also made a police bike with an air cooled twin rotor engine called the Norton Commander. There is loads of reading out there including the internet if you want to gain further insight.

Great piece apart from the unnecessary drippy back ground music. Why on earth you think bike fans want to listen to that is way off the mark. Even playing it over the sound off the bike the very thing we're all watching it for 🙄🙄
