Tech Talk - CP Series Speech Contour

I use an acoustic guitar and mic direct into the cp8. Is the Speech contour a better option for my vocals or is this for "speech" only?

When you have a mic plugged into input B with the dsp in speech mode and you have music playing on input A and you speak, does the volume on input A go down while you are speaking?
