Another way is to hold and guide the hammer with your thumb or index and thumb, just don't make it a habbit as a commenter mentioned its still dangerous to do this with a loaded chamber.

after you decock it, and set it to fire, can you fire it in double action? This is a cute gun, and want my wifey to have something in her waistband.

Yes I believe that is how the double action works on this gun. Recently checked it out myself and purchased it.

Mine will not decock. I have 2 of these. One will and one won't. The CA model will not decock. Any ideas.

check your safety, it’s supposed to physically block the hammer from striking the firing pin, if your safety is missing the piece that physically goes between it could still shoot

My dad said treat even empty guns as loaded, in other words only drop hammer when pointed in a safe direction. You pulled off a "holey hand" drop hammer.

Pointless lmfao. Once you know it's empty, its empty and safe. Doesn't mean you can go point it at someone though. It's safe to put your hand infront of the barrel and to look down the barrel.

Why can I not put the hammer down when the gun is empty with no magazine?

The P22 has a magazine disconnect safety unfortunately, can't fire if there's no mag in it.
