Hard handles great idea, good to see wings evolving and improving all the time

Hi Gunnar thanks for your videos... Can you maybe talk also about North foils in the future? 🤙

Hi Nic, For sure. I will be doing a Live Tech Talk about them next week.

Do you know if a harness line be attached to the Nova 2022 wings? The manuals refer to the 2021 wing attachment points.

Can the hard handles ding the board it they hit it? Can you comment on the handling in the upper wind range? Some wings get twitchy when over powered, others are happy to handle as much wind as you like with only a bit of trailing edge flapping.

Hi Greg. Hard handles can ding the board when they hit it, however it is very unlikely with the way the handles are positioned on the Strut. They are a fair distance away from the Leading egde, so you are unlikely to pull the hard front bit of the handle into the nose of your board. The rest of the handle is covered in EVA. So far I have not dinged my board and I have had a number of hard crashes with the handle impacting on the board: The Nova 2 handles strong wing well. It flies very stable when sheeted out when overpowered. Very little flapping. The Washout/twist on the tips lets the power bleed off when hit by a gust and keeps the wing stable. I was racing yesterday in Murcia on the 4.2m in gusty 25-32 Knots comfortably.

Would you know if the 4.2 Nova 2022 has more low end grunt/power than the 4.2 Nova (2021) and in other words can be used in slightly lighter winds? Or are they sitting on the same wind range? I currently have the Nova v1 in sizes 6m and 4.2m, and I find that there is a bit of a gap between 6m and 4.2m, which means that I have many sessions of riding the 6m overpowered before being able to switch to the 4.2m . I read in the specs that the wind range of the 4.2m (v2) sits 2 knots lower than v1. So in theory it should come closer to the 6m (v1) Have you perhaps noticed this in testing? It would impact my decision.. i.e. go for a 5 (v2) or a 4.2 (v2) and sell the old 4.2. I am a bit unsure how reliable the spec sheets are, and whether this 2 kts difference is noticeable. Thanks once again for you insights! Nash

Do you feel the same about dropping from a 6m V1 to a 5m V2. ( I know from Windsurf Sails the gaps get closer the smaller you go)
@avinashbikha2 жыл бұрын
@@BossaBandits could be an option. I keep my 6m v1 for now as it works for my 8-10 kts range. After actually trying the new V2 4.2 I can tell how much closer it is to the V1 6m

Which size do you recomend for a beginer 85kg Sab w1100 in low wind 12-18 knts?

6m is probably going to work with that foil
