Do you run a back bar on your hunting rig? Had a 10/8 on my Halon and it was money. A little bulky though. Might run the single offset from Bee Stinger this year. Great videos so far man, keep it up!

I haven't run one for hunting while actually in the field , but I have thrown one on my hunting bow for 3D shoots in the spring and can't deny that the bow holds better. That being said, I can get a pretty darn good hold with just a front bar, so I haven't pulled the trigger on using a back bar, strictly because of the weight/bulk. Confidence in your shot is everything when you're hunting though, so I recommend shooting whatever you're most comfortable with. Thanks for the comment, Korey. Keep it Inside Out.

When I have no stabilizers on my compound it feels pretty planted in the centre of my grip. When I put on my 30 inch long rod and 15 inch side rod on bottom riser position (Hoyt Invicta) I get some rocking feeling in my grip where my center of pressure kind of moves up to the web of my bow hand and I really have to drive with the heel of my palm. Does this sound like a grip problem or does it have to do with my stabilizer setup?

Very good video. I’ve been shooting indoor tournaments for a couple years and this is the first and best explanation of stabilizer and weight ratios I’ve heard. The equation you mentioned is fantastic. Thank you.

I run a 28 a2a with a 6" stabilizer and 5-6 oz of weight at the tip and quick disconnect. The length ends up being around 7-8 inch range. Works great for me. It'll differ between each shooter and each bow in my opinion.

thank you so much Did not realise how important your bars were for your bow I just purchased in Matthews VXR28 for hunting Is there a good starting recommendation for a front bar and a back bar set up I'm fairly comfortable shooting 50 yd to 60 yd but would like to Tighten my groups

I have a vxr 28, I purchased a 12inch bar for the front and an 8inch for the back, I just played around with the weights for the front and back till I got comfortable. It’s more shooter preference than it is a set amount of weight.

what's a good stabilizer today? for a hunting bow. I don't want to add a lot of weight. And I don't have bow shops around me to try them out.

Personally I'm not a fan. Well made, but if there's any wind while you're shooting it acts like a sail and makes it very hard to aim

im running a mathews vxr 31.5 with a 8" flatline stabilizer up front. I also use a Hamskea hybrid pro hunter rest and fast eddie xl sight; would you recommend using a side bar on this set up?
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 5 жыл бұрын
Back bars definitely help you hold really well, but can be cumbersome if you hunt on foot and are carrying your bow all day.

I bought the Microhex and Flatline stabs last year. Put them on the Hoyt Hyperforce and Mathews Triax. Lancaster Archery convinced me to go with front AND rear bars. I have to say in the end I didn't really notice much difference between them with the Mathews (my Triax and H32). For the Hyperforce which had a lot of typical Hoyt noise and vib the flatline made a pretty big difference. But they are definitely expensive. For this year I'm running 10" Flatline front and 8" rear on my Vertix: what a perfect combination. The Vertix was already super quiet and vib free and now it's a dream shooting them. My only complaint about the flatflines is the vibration EHS doohickeys can come loose and become lost. Out here in East Coast with ATVs and thick brush my bows can get knocked about and what not. This is an issue with the Mathews riser EHS thing too. They come out way too easily.

Sounds like a sweet set-up! Every bow responds differently to different bars. No way to tell what works best other than to just shoot them all! Good shooting to you and thanks for watching!

Which bar combo should i get if I'm a beginner with about 4 hours of range experience without any type of stabilizer? 15" front bar(10oz) and 10" back bar (6oz) Or 10" front bar(6oz) and 10" back bar(6oz) Main goal for now is just to practice in the backyard and maybe hunt with it in ths distant future.

I have the vertical bobbing pin float that you were describing. Currently running 2 oz on a 30" beestinger and 7 oz on a 15"... with your ratio I'd only have 4 oz on the back. Any advice on what to try? Great content so far btw keep it up!
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 5 жыл бұрын
It's different for everyone, but I'd try loading your front bar with 5 oz. to start and apply the equation. Your set up sounds a bit light, so any movement in your arm will show up in your pin float. Increasing the overall weight of your bars will help ypur pin stettle.
