In you videos it would be great to have a section of car performance, actual driving footage, sounds, and capabilities showcasing the technology, or car documented. 30-60sec would be great!

That's exactly what we do when we can get the footage =) We can't always get it though noting that at any one event we could be talking from 10-20 people about a range of things, it's pretty hectic - Taz.

Awesome car in development. I wonder though if, due to the unlimited nature of the rules, whether a few opportunities for innovation has been left out. With the resources available, an exploration into having the front and rear spoilers run in an unsprung configuration, could have been implemented. This would of negated the need for the 3rd spring arrangements. It does add some unsprung weight but does not effect the rotating mass. This would have a lot of technical issues to work through such as the separation between the upper diffusor edge and the lower edge of the rear element. Maybe a flexible skirt between the two to control the airflow. There's a great explanation on Kyle Engineers channel about unsprung weight. Another cool thing to see on this car would be electric drive to the front wheels on demand. It would not have to be a big heavy system. Just a little helper for front end turn when needed. Thoughts? DOCILE Forever!!!

It was my understanding that there was no way to remove heat from the motor, no fault of the radiators or pump or any of the setup but a thermal limitation of the block.

Wonder if they could just run adjustable magnetic dampers? Less weight and complication to suspension. Lmao at using a 5.3. Epic. They're good for around 700-800hp stock but the K1/JEs will do wonders for going over that if the top end is looked after. Glad they went dry sump, a given for any LS over 1-1.2G sustained. Looks like I have a new goal racecar. Unlimited aero is what I'm looking for. Love the presenter, someone who actually knows cars. Great stuff! Sounds like a kiwi or maybe an Auzzie haha. Subbed.
@hpa1017 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub. There are a few other great Tech Tours from this years Pikes Peak on here. The car is also for sale last we saw so you might even be able to get a jumpstart on your project if you're quick! And we're Kiwis, so your guess was on the money, well done! - Taz.
@N4CR7 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'll check them out. Also a Kiwi so it was cheating for me to figure it out! Would have to sell current track car and save a lot more, so I think this is a long term goal ;) If you're ever interested in checking out one of (if not the) most modified, track built, LS swapped S2000s on the planet, the first JDM one in existence, in Auckland in later Q4 upon completion, let me know. Not sure how it will do on track competitively as theyre' heavier than other Honda chassis but there is a definitely a good chance to set the NZ N/A Honda record in the 1/4. It's currently track/road race focused, yet bit of an all rounder until it finds a niche. Might go Time attack, might stay more casual track focused.. who knows. Some of highlights include dry sump LS3, T56 mag, '15 z/28 diff, 6 pots, basic suspension mods for now before dialling it in, Link Extreme for modern functionality, lots more rubber, with a mostly stock look etc. Also love filming and editing. Cheers

@TechSalvager7 жыл бұрын
What material are they using for the turbo manifold?
@blyndrotor7 жыл бұрын
TechSalvager Metal. I guess. Seriously though it would be probably be a stainless tuned length setup then thermal wraped to maintain the heat in the manifold. The wraps main benefit is keeping the heat in the manifold which maintains gas velocity and helps with throttle response.
@TechSalvager7 жыл бұрын
I have high doubts its stainless, if it is, its gonna have to be a higher grade. If anything I would expect it to be inconel
@blyndrotor7 жыл бұрын
TechSalvager Maybe.
@blyndrotor7 жыл бұрын
TechSalvager I would guess a stainless (high grade/quality) would be the better $$ option as it would not be subjected to the amount of thermal cycles as a daily driven car nor would require the longevity either.
@helpallanimals30967 жыл бұрын
It is 304 stainless. If you go on Honda-Tech and look in the "welding and fabrication" section you can see where he and others started building these must be 15 years ago. Some are made from thick stainless pipe and others from thinner stainless tubing. He used to build very fast turbo civics and NSX's you can find his username "Tinker219" but there's lots of turbo manifold build topics on that site.

Why would you use an iron block on a race car when there are many aluminum ls blocks that can be used?
@mugshotmarley7 жыл бұрын
Ryan Barbolt You can find the iron block LS everywhere, for super cheap too. Plus, I would think that they designed the engine to be a structural part in this race car. In that aspect, the added weight from using an iron block over the lighter alum block is not necessarily be a bad thing.

What is with the air inlets for the turbos being blocked and having a small air line plumbed into it??? What the hell is going on there?
@iownyounoobs7 жыл бұрын
That would be way too restrictive on the turbo and would probably cause it to fail. Its most likely a boost leak tester, where they pump in compressed air to check for leaks in the entire system.
