@eginteractive3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't even consider an Intel based Mac, as going forward support for further updates on apps is going to be severely limited. This is what happened with PowerPC Macs when they switched to Intel. I recently moved on from my Intel MacBook and invested in the M1 MacBook Pro, and it's incredible how much faster it is. I don't use the internal 512gb for file storage, so it's not a concern of mine.

My ex wife had a MacBook Pro back in 2014 and I was able to record my first record on it and pump out copies of it onto CDs in about 2-5 minutes per disk. She also had a temper and would throw her laptop from time to time. It got some dents but never broke. PLUS, a 2 liter of coke got spilled right onto the keyboard and it still kept going strong. They’re built so strong compared to any laptop I’ve ever seen. There’s probably some of those work dedicated laptops that are built like those old yellow Motorola beep beep phones that were pretty much bulletproof lol but, you would have to search for durable laptops in specific. As for power and programs… the Pro is still ideal to me. I just can’t afford one right now as I’m remodeling my studio. I’ll probably get a used mini for $150 off eBay in the meantime.

@TechGearTalk3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think you can easily edit on the Air - which will allow you to upgrade the RAM to 16 or the SSD to 512 (8 core gpu and 8 core cpu) and still be under the Pro. If you want the MBP, then decide how much storage is enough for your apps and work with an external SSD (which you'll do in either case). You can, but don't need 16GB or RAM - but you'll never regret having it. You can wait for the 14, but I expect it to be more expensive. Thanks for being part of the channel!
