I kept jumping around from different playlists throughout youtube for this specific module , but you definitely offer the best and clearest explenation ! Thank you so much

I'm studying for a semiconductors exam and this is helping so much! The book has so many formulas that aren't really relevant to the exercises, these videos have all the useful information, very well explained! Thank you so much, I might pass now because of you :)

Sir , ur lectures are amazing , only one thing I would recommend is to please use a WHITE coloured or any light coloured pointer / cursor , as the black colour camouflages with the background.

at 1:34, which distance we are talking about, is that inter atomic distance?
@techgurukula5 жыл бұрын
No. It's the distance along the crystalline semiconductor material.

Sir, I have one doubt @4 min 50 sec of this video, you said that when temperate increases electron will aquire some energy and it will jump to conduction band from valance band but when temperature increases interatomic distance will increase and energy gap will decrease right Then y u are not changing the band diagram whem temp increases

sir,if there is no free electrons in si crystal then the conduction band filled with holes and valance band with electrons?
@techgurukula3 жыл бұрын
if si crystal has no free electrons 1. Valence band is empty of holes and full of electrons. 2. Conduction band is empty of electrons, means states not filled with electrons. You have to NOTE: we always talk about electrons in conduction band, and holes in valence band - as they contribute to conduction. which means we usually don't talk about the electrons in valence band and empty states in conduction band. -Techgurukula.

Sir 1KT=25meV and for silicon the Eg=1.1eV ...so how is the transition possible at room temp?
@techgurukula7 жыл бұрын
Hi Priyadarshani, Nice question, Thank you for asking. if we go into details - it gets more probabilistic and related to quantum mechanics (beyond the scope of the course ). Hence, trying to explain with an analogy: It is known and accepted fact => Water evaporates at 100 degC. It doesn't mean water won't evaporate for temperatures < 100 degC - we dry clothes not at 100 degC. Hope that helps. Thanks, Techgurukula.

Covalent bond is formed by two electron so if covalent bond will break how many electrons will move from valence band to conductance band.
@techgurukula7 жыл бұрын
covalent bond formed electrons are in valence band. When a bond is broken, it doesn't mean both are out - it could be 1, or in few cases 2. We don't do this kind of analysis - instead turn towards quantum mechanics to tell us probabilistic-ally how many will be freed not per bond, but per unit volume. Eg: 1. when a couple fight, not necessary both leave home. Hope it makes sense :P 2. when a promise is made, made between two parties. it stands broken even if one doesn't keep it :) Thanks, Techgurukula.
