When I first started playing this video I was like this thing won’t last 1 minute. I’ve had a Mavic Air for about 3 weeks and am stupidly apprehensive of even flying 200m to 300m away without panicking. What this thing endures defies belief. Gives me a maaaasive confidence boost. I know the drone is more capable of what I’m willing to try but good job man. Awesome video.

I think these guys are paid by DGI and we don't know how many drones they used to make this video. Mine fell 4 feet not even moving forward and broke like an egg. I'd be very careful with it as I am when I get it back from being repaired. Luckily I found a guy to replace the back right arm and motor for $80.

@@paramandans my first drone was a dji spark, it fell from 70 meters high cause I didnt put the battery properly and the drone just turn off, the drone survived without a scratch but the battery died with the crash.

Bought/lost my first Spark 2 years ago flying from inside on 10th floor to outside - it freaked out going from barometric pressure to GPS - and never came home. Been afraid to try it with Spark 2 and Mavic Air 1. Glad to see you show it can be done, Thanks!

Thanks for watching and commenting! The spark only has a single camera at the bottom for VPS so the spark couldn't rely on it for positioning when you fly outside as the VPS only have a range of 30 meters (100 ft). Since it doesn't know where the take off point was, it probably landed when it lost signal. The Mavic Air uses 6 cameras for VPS so even if you fly it outside the air can still use the cameras on the front or back for positioning and will remain stable like shown in this video. However, we don't recommend flying it through a window as it may not be able to use VPS in certain conditions like at night or when it's unable to spot a pattern using the VPS.

Alot of people give hate to people who do durability tests but what they dont realize is it gives the viewers alot more confidence to actually do what they want to do. I never would have done half the stuff I do now with my drone if I hadn't seen this video. I'm able to have alot more fun.

At both 4:44 and 5:13 it was in (Normal) P mode where it position itself using the visual position system (consisting of 6 cameras in front, behind and below)

I should've bought this instead of a traxxas aton that the two rear motors aren't as powerful since while trying to take off in expert mode it tilted backwards and the motors were forced trying to spin. It has an auto shut off, but it didn't seem to help. My other much cheaper drones were much more durable than the 400 dollar one that I just bought, such a disappointment. I wish I would've seen this video SOONER!

That tree test is b/s. My drone hit a tree, not a bunch of leaves, and well it's on its way to the repair shop with a broken front arm. The entire front arm broke off of the craft. So be careful!

It depends on how it hits the tree and how it lands on the ground after. How fast were you flying when it hit the tree? Did it land on rocks or concrete?

Nope the grass that it landed in was so lush, they cut it the following day. It the tree. What the video shows is what happens if you hit some tree leafs, and not the actual tree.

Hmm, I think that's too extreme. All we can say is that it still works till this day after the water balloon test. There's also a sort of hydrophobic coating on the motherboard just like the Mavic Pro so it's highly likely able to do the same thing.
